Speaking of being mean...

Just wondered if I should reply to an e-mail that was mistakenly sent to me.

I think it is from a poof.

Ha ha... Graham, You old joker. If the flight took for ever you would still be on it and if it was a "forever flight" eventually you would run out of fuel. You crack me up old man :-D AND! what could be worse than forever on a plane? Going to London wont be that bad!

Ahh yes. Mum and Dad. They were wondering if you and James spilt anything whilst you were there as there was a stain or something... I don't know all the details. But don't worry about it.

Anyhoo... I have to do something now. I don't know what it is but I will have to do it. You know how it is these days! :-D

    Peace out. male later

Yes, it had been edited, but I changed it back to it's original glory. Here's what it says in case they change it again:

quote:
HI! Glad I found your wonderful site! I just love hamsters, and I've owned quite a few in my lifetime... I had a question... What are everyone's opinions on declawing them? Has anyone had any success doing this at home, or would I have to take them to a vet?

I love these cute li'l things, but sometimes they can be a real pain-in-the-ass...

    My responses are as follows:

quote:
I don't appreciate my post being edited, "Moderator" - it was an honest question, and you were out of line to change it.

I like to play with my hamsters, and sometimes they can get a little rough with the claws, so I was wondering if it was possible to declaw them the same as cats.

and, in response to this (By moochie60):

quote:
Therapy.......
Do you want a phone number, website? I would be MORE than happy to give you one. Pretending to be a bunch of different people isn't healthy. It goes downhill from here......

    I posted this:

I'm getting into it with a *teacher* now... from Canaduh, even...

Here's the post before the mod deletes it:

quote:
OK, I changed it. It now reads, "rear." Is that satisfactory now? Wouldn't want to offend any of our kindergarten web surfers, now...

Wow... I just looked at your profile. There's quite a bit of info there, eh? It gives one androgenous name, a location, and a hidden email address. Oh, and that you're female. How can you give out soooo much information and still feel secure? So you're a teacher, eh? And you wouldn't have any problems sending your child through 'those' neighborhoods? (pardon the lack of the extra "U" - I'm not posting in 'Canadian') No offense, but what is wrong with you? Some of these kids live in downright ghetto environments... (At least where I am, a representative democracy, I suppose the Communist regime up there in Kanada takes care of all the poor, eh Comrade?) If you have no problem sending a kindergartener through an area where poverty, drugs, violence, and rapings rule the streets, one can only stipulate as to what you're teaching the other children...

"What does a child's education have to do with my post?"

It's quite simple, really... go back and read your response:

"...there are several younger readers here, and your topic of conversation is inappropriate, so we count on the Mod to make sure things are all G-rated. Duh."

I was merely responding to you.

As far as declawing kitties... If it comes between little fluffy and my Italian leather couch... I'm sorry, but the cat can live without his claws. It's a relatively painless procedure, and if you care about your cats enough to keep them indoors all the time and not out causing trouble in the neighborhoods and crapping on other people's lawns, they should have no real need for their claws.

I hardly think my post was "confrontational" nor "condescending," no matter how much you like to use the word. It's an honest question, and I expected a few honest answers. I guess I was wrong.

Oh... before they change it, my earlier post that got the teacher all riled up:

quote:
And just what is so inappropriate about the discussion of declawing hamsters? Do you think your kids are safe at school from the dangers of the *gasp* real world? You send your children to a place to get an education where they must sit in a classroom with children who live in neighborhoods you wouldn't even want to walk through!

It's a serious issue, and I see no problem with asking it on a family oriented webpage.

No doubt my most recent post will be mutilated into something simple like "I run circles in my living room":

quote:
The mess with Richard Gere was just a hoax... he never messed around with hamsters >

I know Canaduh is spelled with a "C" - note in the above post, I mentioned it twice, purposefully misspelling it the second time. I do take issue with your 'socialist programs' - and I could never live in a country that doesn't even grant it's own citizens the freedom to sleep securely with a .357 by their side. The Constitution of the US was written by people who wished their citizens to have the right and the ability to defend themselves against any enemy, be it foreign or domestic - that is, an overly oppressive, powerful government. It's been proven time and time again that crime rates are less in areas where citizens carry weapons... It makes sense, really. What thief is going to break into a house where he has the potential to be shot in?

Minimum wage? Give me a break. Minimum wage causes employers to spend more money on employees, in turn, hiring less workers, and forces them to cut corners in product quality. You should let the invisible hand of capitalism run your economy, not the government. If you enjoy a $0.99 hamburger at the local grease joint, and all of a sudden they have to start spending $1 more per hour on everyone's salaries, what do you think's going to happen to that hamburger? It will either not be $0.99 for long, or they'll be forced to use cheaper quality meat/soy/whatever. Use that as a metaphor for all economic activity when a 'minimum wage' is established. Why can't you liberals see that this is bad? And why is it, every time I run into a teacher, they turn out to be Socialists?

As far as the name goes, "Ano" sounds androgynous. I'm sorry, it just does - no offense. When I hear that name, I don't know if it's a guy or a gal. I never said you were androgynous.

The teaching deal? "We teach everyone, regardless of background" - Exactly. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but would you honestly send your own child through each of your student's neighborhoods? That's just bad parenting. Would you want to send your child through THIS neighborhood? I'm willing to bet those children go to public schools...
