Stale Weed can smell like urine if its not aired out properly especially the potent types, its why I keep my window open most of the day haha ;D
Yes, they stunk. My sister's first car was an '82 Jetta and my mom had a late 70's Bettle when I was a kid.
Jetta's are great little cars, very fast too and rare/collectable with some performance car enthusiasts. Friend of mine has a VW Corrado 2.9 which is the top end of the scale and sure can shift, but are rare now too as they stopped making them. Golf is more your thing, not sure on your market saturation for VW's but they are usually good price range over here.
My family had the VW bus in the 70's and we drove it across the US one summer. We had to roll it down hills to jump start it and fuel it with the engine running but we made it. *I was raised by hippies*

I went to school with a guy who had a WV bus and I hit my head a lot in the back of it. We weren't fucking, just a group of kids smoking weed. It had ugly curtains and wasn't comfortable and it broke down on us.
