I'm not horribly curious about any of the people you guys talking about, but I am wondering if they address the effect the stopped wobble would have on the effect of the eath's (or moon's I guess) tides? Anyone with a boat would notice.

Not really, the moon is still circling around the planet, creating the tides. People won't really notice the slight difference the stopped wobble would have. The stopped wobble will have an effect on volcanic and earthquake activity soon enough, though. And MmMmMm boy I can't wait.
