photoshop help

ok how do i (in eather psp or photoshop) do a batch change of colour? for example if i have a picture of a red car and i want to make it black how can this be done so i just change one shade and the program automatically what the other shades shud be? i want to apply the new colour in a single click. im tired and rambleing but help wud be appreciated

Record the actions.

 

Then apply to the 'open' image.

Or alternatively you can 'batch' the files.

Told you I was feckin' good.
