The thing is they won't follow the trial. In 2 months this guy will barely even be a blip on the radar in the American media. But he's going to be front and center in Iraq for quite some time.

The reason the phrase "drive by media" is because this is their technique. Bam! Rat a tat tat tat tat! Come out big with the headlines for maximum damage to their opponent. Then move on before any intelligent debate can be had on the subject. For every poll that you publicly see the results of there are 50 behind the scenes. They have it down to a science and know how to get maximum results in influencing public opinion and know how far to go is to far before loosing their credibility.

 

Or maybe people in the United States have a short attention span. Knee jerk reaction, I swear.
