I agree on Rocky Marciano he is the most overlooked Heavy Weight ever because of his color and don't even doubt that. The reverse racism in boxing is beyond belief. The man retired 49 Wins, 0 Loss, 43 Knockouts with the title belt. The only man that can claim that. Look at 43 of his 49 victors came by Knockout. I don't think you can lump someone as the greatest sports figure of all time. I think you have to go by the sport they played in.
Marino never won the big one, gretzky did, granted early in his career. I think greatest of all time is a hell of a category to fill. I mean, Lance Armstrong dominated the Tour for years, was it 7 he won in a row? I mean that is domination, tyson dominated boxing when he was 'off his meds'
Marino my not of one the big one but it does not take away from the fact he is the best QB to play the game. Plus the thing that has always won him huge points with me is he was loyal to his team something that is unheard of in today's NFL.
Marino, Young, I hate to say it, but Aikman, Marino might have records, for most TD, most YDs, but Bradshaw has the most Super Bowl wins. That's why the title 'best sportsman ever' is too broad.
See I don't count Superbowl wins into it. As that is a group effort. You either have the team or don't. I'm going my individual effort. It would break down like this. Basketball: Jordan Baseball: Babe Ruth, Micky, So many great players. Minus any of today's steroid puppies. Boxing: Rocky,Ali,Suger Ray Football: Marino, Aikmen,Young,Farve,Bradshaw,Taylor. Many greats here too. Hockey: Gretzky no question Nascar: Who fucking cares Soccer: Again who fucking cares
