If American forces uncovered a torture pit a huge network used to torture and interrogate locals that the insurgency identifies as possible American sympathizers. When I say huge I'm talking about thousands of local’s Iraqi natives. Terrified knowing that if they help the Americans they and as well there families would be beaten brutally tortured and killed. There mothers there sisters, daughters, sons, fathers, grandmothers. All at risk if their actions seem to in any way possibly indicate that you may be assisting the Americans. Would you find that news worthy? Would you be moved to address it on a forum? Would you be for or against the insurgent movement? If you had to take sides between a group of mostly outsiders that torture people as a tool and do so on a daily basis. Then hide amongst the people they maim and kill using them as shields and cover disguising as a local citizen. And the other side who builds schools brings electricity in, water and utilities. A side that tries hard to protect the local people as best they can. And wears a uniform to identify them self lest a local be falsely identified as a regular force so the enemy can identify them as the target.

Which side Smiley if all this were true and you had to pick one or the other which would you be on?

yes quite honorable..... americans with their honor and valor.... putting together a coalition of countries to finally kick over a crippled nation they've been bombing fro over 10 years.... oh did we forget that little tidbit ... 10 years is a long fuckign time for a people to build up resentment for a nation thats kept them under sanctions and constant aerial barrage for a fucking decade... HONESTLY how UNGRATEFULL are these iraqi's .... i mean they should be grateful that americans are building schools they destroyed or bringing electricity into areas that they, only a few months ago, cut off..... america to the rescue yet again WOOOHOOOO

By the way, Smiles has done a lot of great posts lately, but i can't face getting into a debate with Joeslogic. He strikes me as the sort of person who'd sooner lose his sanity than alter his views. This puts it very well:

Nursey who by the way I have never read in any post by her any type of concession that another person has made a valid point. On the other hand says I refuse to attempt to understand though I have acknowledged several times when others bring up a valid point. Also refuses to answer any of my questions, scours through my past posts to attempt to denigrate my character. I’m impressed Nursey must have really bored yourself on that one to invest that much effort and read all those post.

Two from the last two pages on this thread. Damn Smiley you make it so hard to have a conversation I can easily dig up more from the previous six or so pages on this thread alone. You should have saved yourself and said "Name me fifteen questions I have avoided" I'll save you some dignity and stop short of three.
