When he saw this car in the parking lot of IHOP, we went and bought a camera to take pictures. The guy driving it was jogging up and down the highway in the background, but he finally came back after the police came. They just shook their heads in amazement. They told him to get back while they cut the twine around the load. The materials were apparently loaded at Home Depot. Their store manager said he had the customer sign a waiver! Both tires are trashed. The back shocks were driven up through the floorboard. And, in the back seat there are 10 bags, 80 pounds each of concrete! On the roof are many 2 by 4’s, 4 by 4’s and sheets of lumber. The load is estimated at 3-thousand pounds. The car is a VW Jetta with Florida plates…and the guy…said he was headed for Annapolis. Poor Jetta!

I'd seen this circ'd by email previously. It's accompanying explanation indicated that the location depicted was somewhere off the Rt 50 corridor in Maryland - rather than Florida as implied - so that the short jaunt to Annap. would not be such the ridiculous idea it may appear. Also note the sleeping female in the passenger seat. Drinking and Driving - Just Don't Do It, Kids
Hmmm... Didn't say it was taken in Florida, just that the car had Florida plates (Although, it does sound like they're trying to imply quite a distance in the article)... The main thing that stuck in my mind was how little I was surprised to hear they were from Florida...
