Actually, a lot of them are not only Muslims, but Hindus as well. And just because I haven't started a thread on it here, doesn't mean I haven't discussed it elsewhere, and that it hasn't been weighing heavily on my mind.

Don't get me wrong I like americanized pakis but shit is nuts over there. That's why most of the ones that are here come her. To get away from a crazy life. It's easy to get desensitized to catastrophes in developing and third world countries. Take Africa, it is constant famine, civil wars and crap that is always going on where hundreds of thousands die. If the rest of the world were like us there'd be no more oil, way more war, and the apocalypse would of came a long long time ago because the Earth would of been stripped faster. How about building buildings that don't collapse like pancakes with a sizeable earthquake and then racking in up to allah's will instead of holding builders and the goverment accountable.
well dan it's simple... those regions of the world are significantly behind america technologically.... 100 years ago prarie farmers in canada and US had "houses" made of dirt, grass, and wood... america consumes 80%* of the worlds resources becasue they have the money to pay them.... america during the industrial revolution, liek all countries going through it, was a slum with peopel living in simllar conditions as those in pakistan do today if an earthquake of this magnitude occured then you'd have been in big trouble too..... i seem to recall a fire, San francisco? prolly am wrong as for the builder and the governement thing... i dont have the statistics of how the newer buildings held up to the quake compared to government regulations and american standards so for either of us to comment on that would be foolhardy
