That have nothing to do with politics, the environment, medicine or any of the worlds current problems. I am thinking about making a trip to the bookstore for some stuff to read over the holidays. Looking for some good fiction.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Hunter S Thompson Mystic River - Dennis Lehane Lovely Bones - Alice Seebold and... Long Way Round - Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman, based on their motorcycle journey across Europe and the States - around the world basically. Bloody good read IMO.
Junky-William S. Burroughs I'm a Stranger Here Myself - Bill Bryson In God We Trust (All Others Must Pay Cash) - Jean Shepperd Possessed - Steven Frances (it's Lovecratish story written in 1927)
Black Boy - Richard Wright (Autobiography) Great Book All over but the Shoutin' - Rick Bragg Southern Culture, very personal and emotional. Man is the Prey - James Clarke Written in the 1970's - documents all the animals that hunt and kill humans (lions, tigers, bears, Oh my, etc) Sounds bad, but is one of the most interesting books you will ever read. Without Conscience: The Disturbing World of the Psychopaths Among Us by Robert D. Hare Great book if you like to study the mind. Hint: The psychopaths are not who you think. They are mostly Doctors, Lawyers and CEO's. I read it in one day - found it truly fascinating. (but I am probably a little biased because it has my picture on the back cover.) Enjoy!
I never linked those books to Amazon, how did that happen? I'm not that much a master of the Dark Arts... :?: :!:
It is really not that big of a mystery. Fugly is just a sharp business dude, and quickly saw a way to get his foot in the door with Amazon.com. He gets my vote for opportunist of the week. Barry
...and you get mine. So which one of Doctor Hare's (a 'world leading expert in psychopathy and violence assessment') case studies were you?
Just a quick of the subject question, did u come to fugly looking for some new case studies? There are plently of candidates.
As for books, i'd have to agree with Dubya Lovely Bones by Alice Seebold,is a great read as is her other book Lucky. The Best a Man Can Get by John O'Farrell Life of Pi by Yann Martel
My Friend Nursey wrote - So which one of Doctor Hare's (a 'world leading expert in psychopathy and violence assessment') case studies were you? Didn't I say I was sorry? I am kinder and gentler now. No need to beat me down any further. I still intend to be opinioned and fairly closed minded, but at least I am trying not to be so arrogant. It is was a facade anyway. (and you, Nursey, know that). To answer your question, my diagnosed mental illness is found in this book http://www.press.jhu.edu/books/title_pages/1065.html not in the one about psychopaths. Barry
OH BARRY who are you trying to fool..... we both know why you came back Now if u excuse me the CIA is after me..... ALERT ALERT
If you don't mind. Being arrogant was much easier, and relieved my stress much better than watching Crocodile Hunter. Barry
