All link to a malicious SWF file at a Tripod account: "moonaxmother.tripod.com". Adjust your browser security settings to disable all scripting and ActiveX object download and execution. Now, a repeat FYI from other threads: ================================= For those interested, the critical file at "moonaxmother.tripod.com" causing the mayhem is "5.SWF", a 1x1pixel Flash movie file whose sole contents is a scripting object executing GET URL commands - each targeting new browser windows for the dramatic and lovely effect you may have been fortunate to witness - on a repeating list of gay porn sites. A rather original hack, I must say - the infinite-windows thing pumps up the hit counts on all the sites, disrupts business on the site the malicious link is spammed in, and crashes users' systems who don't know how to kill the browser processes quickly enough --kills 3 birds with one stone, so to speak. Well, we'll see how long the "moonaxmother" account at Tripod lasts - ABUSE@TRIPOD.COM has already been emailed with the particulars. Likewise, when Martin drags his drunken ass in the door in the morning, he'll find an emailed list of the shell Fugly member accounts used to spam the forums: "Mother", "Wandering Porn Dealer", and any others I find.
Clever, yes... but short-lived. It makes me wonder what kind of person has the time to sit down and plan some shit like this out. It's no wonder that most boards have HTML disabled.
