I loved this movie with a passion. Good lord. Should be illegal to make anything that looks that nice.
I saw it last night. It looked great but I thought it moved a little slowly in the first half. I thought it looked post apocalyptic at first and creepy the way WALL-e takes parts from robots like a soldier taking boots from the dead. The message about the sins of lethargy and gluttony was reminiscent of "Supersize Me." The animators did a good job allowing the robots to emote by way of their "eye" shapes, lights, and head tilts. You always seem to know what the characters are feeling even if they don't have "faces" to convey it. The use of light and reflection in the animated environments was impressive. The amount of detail sets a new benchmark for Pixar. But, for a Disney production, it didn't make me cry so I don't know if it is a total success. I did tear up a little after paying $21 for two tix and a small coke and popcorn, though.
You get free gas from work and you are complaining about buying popcorn? Count your blessings beyotch. (I got free passes from work)....
Oh, you know I drove to the theater and back on company gas. But I can't smell all that hot-buttered movie popcorn and not dig in, no matter what they over-charge for it. I got a Diet Coke to balance it out.
I didnt like the repetitive use of that one song and a lot of other songs, plus the happy ending, but I guess its a kids movie, what can you do?
