I got nervous last night. There was someone with a flashlight shining it all around down the road. I was feeling all Annie Oakley. I think I am the only active part of our Neighborhood Crime watch. My road is scary at night. No street lights and when you get down into the gravel part, it's really scary. No houses, just big hills and woods.
I spent a weekend in jail defending my life/home ... in Georgia My mom years ago... had a bad meth problem (now she is pot/pill head practically on her death bed) . My X husband , kid, and I were going to Florida. Kid got sick, trip canceled. We went out to eat Saturday morning, came home to a stolen Uhaul truck backed up to the house. I saw my mom and some geeked up guy. I went inside, saw she trashed the place and had loaded the truck with some of my stuff. We got into I bad verbal fight, she attacked me, I beat the crap out of her, and the guy. My X was on the phone with the cops, Cops came, I WENT TO JAIL. They called it domestic violence, just because I shared some DNA with her. I had no real relationship with her, got phone calls here and there asking for money. I guess when the cops came they saw me -Big tall healthy girl with a bad attitude vs little old lady. ME home ownere, tax paying family-stay at home mom to a sick child, nice house, cars - with no record other then 2 speeding tickets as a teen. They saw her as sweet old lady, and the guy as an innocent guy helping an old lady. I told them about her long record, and drugs- they even pulled it up- and said her past does give me the right to beat her. They saw the damage in the house and our stuff. but I did more damage to them in the fight, so I went to jail. Oh and my mom kept claiming she lived there- because she received some mail at my address...because she was did not have a real address at the time. I spent the weekend and a holiday Monday in the jail...while they went to the ER. Tell me how that is fair. FYI- little old ladies wacked out on meth are strong and keep coming back for more- so yeah I had to open a can of whip ass. She was tougher then the guy. I think there were more people, but they left. My memory sucks. I lost all faith in cops that weekend. I called for help- got jail. just recently (this weekend) a guy in my county went jail, because a black guy forced his way into his home and had a knife. The homeowner beat the shit out of him... and when cops came- homeowner went to jail- they said he should have stopped beating him when he was down and knocked out... the perp had to be rushed to the ER. so it makes me wonder about the law - you can shoot someone in your house. I used my fists and shoe... look what I got. I did get my charges dropped and Expunged (sp?)
was not in Atlanta - In Douglasville... a little suburb 30 min west. You live in Augusta right. I am going there tomorrow to possibly buy a horse trailer I found on craigslist. You should meet up with me and teach me how to back up... I still to this day can not back a auto up- when it has something attached - sad huh. even a golf cart with a trailer on it- I flipped it. dont ask how- it was stupid.
The easiest way to familiarize yourself with backing a trailer up is to put your hands on the bottom half of the steering wheel. Then as you back up, the direction you move your hands is the direction the trailer will go, from the bottom if you move your hands counter clockwise, the trailer will turn that way(to the right), if you turn it clockwise the trailer will go that way (to the left). Its kinda like reverse psychology. The secret is to just go slow. the longer a trailer is, the easier it is to back up, smaller trailers hook quicker so just ease it back, if you feel it not responding just pull back up and try again - SLOWLY. So where abouts in Augusta you heading? Is it one of those bunkhouse horse trailers and dont you already have a riding crop?
