"One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" and "Silence of the Lambs" have more in common than just crazy people. What makes them similar to each other yet different from any other movies? (modern era anyway)

Would it be that the writers whose novels spawned the movies have both never seen those movies?

I don't know, but I know Ken Kesey made a point of never watching "Cuckoo's Nest" so I thought I'd take a punt.

Or would it be that they are the only two modern films to win Oscars in all five of the following categories: Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Screenplay?

("It Happened One Night" achieved the same feat at the 1934 Academy Awards, too.)

    Thank God for Google

    Ding! Ding! Ding!

    You win the internet!

Two of the best movies ever made, in my opinion.
