I won't bitch about the heat this summer if I live that long.

Snow is one thing but an ice storm is horrendous. I'm thankful to have power (for now) but a thousands of people aren't that lucky. I am also eyeballing the enormous silver maple covered in ice and snow and hoping that it's strong enough not to fall into my house.

I won't even start on the roads.

    Is it May yet?

Living in the west coast, you totally forget that it sucks for you guys over there. Here's to a speedy spring over there. If its any consolation, it was pretty hot last night and I had to open a window for an occassinal breeze, mor elike no breeze. Wish it was just a little bit cooler. Agh, I hate warm nights.

I'll keep the ice and snow storms in NH, you keep the earth quakes, we're more or less even. Not to mention that CA is a magnet for all sorts of weird people and thought processes. Everything in life is a compromise.

You live in the west coast? Not on it?

    :)

Where I be, all we gots is heat and humidity. Then there is the one or two days a year it get to 12 degrees and the wal-mart is out of bread, milk, and batteries for a month.

Yeah I have to say I am one thoses people... that freaks out if I see a snow flake. Then I get pissed off at all the people from up north living here on the news laughing at us.

I remember a few years back there was a guy on 11Alive from NY talking to a reporter laughing and saying in a strong NY accent "this is nothing, I dont see why people are going crazy here" then slipped and busted his ass. The people back at the station could not stop laughing- it was great

I wish I'd have seen that. All we ever see is the idiots in Atlanta turning 285 into a bumper car track. We get the occasional wipe out victim here, but its all because people are idiots. Especially the guy who is hauling ass in his SUV thinking it is safer than everyone elses car.

Coming home from a skiing trip to Boone, NC. We got into some bad weather driving back. In Charlotte, as I am riding behind the salt truck, this idiot in a nice 911 comes shooting by. His Porsche was plowing snow as he went, a mile later we passed the same idiot facing the wrong way stuck to the guard rail. I think he was pissed when I gave him the 'golf clap' as we rode by.

The crappy thing was we saw Suburbans flipped with clothes and car seats every where. Toyota pickups flipped. It was sad and depressing. I was driving like 8mph behind the salt truck. Bump that. I want to live, not get home in a hurry.

I remember when I lived in NC for a while, we had one light dusting of snow and there were no cars on the road.

My car is stuck in my yard now. I had to park in the yard away from the trees so a huge branch wouldn't come down on it and total it (again) because I don't know how many times you can reconstruct a vehicle. I tried kitty litter and that didn't work, so I had to get a ride to work. I'm going to go buy that Nissan Pathfinder I saw the other day. This shit is ridiculous. I need a 4 x 4 if mother nature is going to keep playing like this.

When I was a teen , my first boyfriend was from Utah (yes mormon family) and we worked at the same mall (him- Sears Auto me- Perfumania) well we had a big snow storm... and he drove...I figured it was ok since he laughed at snow. We got to the mall...spun out, the car went in circles in slow motion for like 2 minutes... then hit the curb sideways. Totaled the car - yet it had no body damage. It freaked me out so much... I will never ride in a car with real snow and ice.

Well, my car is okay now. Got it pulled out. It was my dumb fault by parking it on a downward slope. I turned a front wheel drive into a rear wheel drive and you know how shitty a rear wheel drive does in the snow. I remember my ex boyfriend got his car hung up on my parents road all of the time in that little 240SX. I remember one night we got stranded way out in BFE and had to walk to the nearest house and this old couple helped us out because he decided to turn around in the road. That's all it would take to get stuck in the snow in that car. It was horrible in the snow. My car does pretty good. This was the only time in 10 years I've ever had any snow probs with it. I love my little car. :)

I like the name Elise. Never knew anyone with that name to spoil it and I always liked The Cure's song "Letter to Elise"

My grandmother (from Germany) was Anneliese (sp?) and my younger sister is just Eliese, and I dont think she would fit in that car.
