This whole media for profit thing is escaping you isn't it? As well as the media being the fourth estate of government, but since it's free of the other 3 branches it also functions as a portion of checks and balances. You should read the Federalist Papers and A Treatise of Two Governments to get a better idea of what the founding fathers were going for. And you should stay out of the sun.
