i have half a mickey of smirnoff.... a 10dollar bill (canadian) and 3 buttons..... erg .. make that a third of a smirnoff mickey.... sold?
We are in the process of buying a place just now, and have a feeling it will turn into the money pit too. Property is so expensive in Oz, though everybody will tell you it is cheap. Bull, we are about to spend 299 on a place that needs a fortune spent on it
299 is very cheap... the cheapest stinking shell of a hovel you could get in the uk costs at least 5-10,000
What currency are we comparing? Does the Uk use Euros or Pounds? Does Australia even have a national currency? This house is a great buy. It has cost me a lot to renovate, but everything in it is new, and it is in great shape. The house has 6 bedrooms, 3 baths, and two kitchens. It has almost 3500 square feet heated and cooled. The community has a Yacht club, horse trails, swimming pools, tennis courts and three golf courses. Owning the home makes you a member of all of them. Only a mile from the bay, and about 25 miles to the Gulf too. All of that for a mere $184,500. That is only about $57.00 per square foot. What a deal! If it does not sell this month, I may consider Smile's offer. Barry
the uk uses £ sterling... average house price is 187000 thats about double the cost of that hovel you got pictured there
You can buy a whole row of houses in Middlesborough for that. Just have to 'evict' the Kosovan gangsters from 'em first though...
Holy Christ, Barry that's cheap! For 6 bedrooms?? Fuck, where I live a place that size would easily be $400,000. EASILY. I'm moving South.
Don't you live in the North West? I was offered a job in Washinton State, but I could not afford the cost of housing there. A nice house there STARTED at 400K. Want to see what 400K buys in the Sunny South? http://tiawasee.home.mchsi.com And the property tax is very low, only about $1200 per year. Now you know why everyone moves here to retire. Come on down, I'll give you the grand tour. Barry
Actually. WE will give you the grand tour. Barrys is no longer allowed outside unsupervised. You can pitch a tent in the side yard and wash up in the creek. Bugs
uh, riiiight. ...Anyway, yes Barry, I live on Whidbey Island north of Seattle and the cost of living is ...well let's just say ridiculous...I don't even want to see the linkyou've presented...I'll get veklempt again.
Bwahahahaha... *forms mental picture of Barry's missus giving him an ear-bending over his loose mouth on the internet*
wow you keep barry on a short leash, If I was barry, I'd give you the slap of love and show you who the real boss is
Works out at about 165 thou which is not cheap in scotland, but average here, nice area though ten mins from the beach. Is 'cheap' as needs refurbished, but plenty of potential
I can't wait to be done with college so I can move somewhere to buy a house. Maybe Barry can hook me up with a therapist job once I've got that masters degree
Start on your license as soon as you graduate. Do not believe the crap that you don't need to be licensed, work under an agency covering, etc. Once you have a degree and the Associates license it is easy to get a job. In the mean time, you can mop my floors. Barry
Did someone tell you not to get a lisence? Its been stressed even at graduate level. And, I'm hoping to cash in on one of the rural communities that are in need councilors and will pay off student loans if one will work for two years in a rural community.
Yes, I made the stupid mistake of working in a Church at first. Under the not for profit law, I did not have to be licensed. Dumbest thing I ever did. (other than joining this forum). Took me years to fix it, because the requirements had changed after I graduated. I think you can do exactly what you are talking about with the rural counties. I worked inner city community mental health for a while. It will drain you. There is a limit to how many drug addicted schizophrenics a person can deal with in a day. Rural is easier, as long as beastiality and incest and missing teeth don't offend you. Barry
