Why you don't like the series or you think it's just to difficult to make into a good movie?

 

I agree that it is some of Kings best written work, but it would translate poorly to film, too much would be lost/left out and it is just a bad idea all together. Best leave them as books.

 

I think it would make a great movie but it would take some serious skill to pull and a brilliant director. It would suck if they just made it into one of those quick knock offs just to make a few bucks. The Roland charcter would have to stand about 6'6 at least and would have to go on a starvation diet prior to the film. They would need a real heroin junkie that was coming off heroin just for the movie for the Eddie character. If someone punched Oprah in the face and took out 3 teeth and then locked her in the closet for 2 months with only a bread and water diet. Nah. Just joking. I fucking hate Oprah. They could use a combat vet for the black woman with no legs.

And you are a dip shit also, The books could no way shape or form transfer to movie form. The only way it would happen if it got the Peter Jackson Treatment that LOTR got. That is just not going to happen with a King book.

 

It could definitely be done. I'm sure nobody thought Star Wars was going to be anything other than a campy piece of shit until it came out. It would just take the right people and alot of money.

 

They did think it was a campy POS, It is a campy POS. The Towers are something that can not be done right now and do it justice.

 

Buck Rogers was a campy piece of shit. Barbarella was a campy shit ball. Star Wars was able to make people forget that the whole idea was completely insane long enough to get to the end of the movie through good Directing, good script writing and casting the right people along with special effects geeks and an especially good audio guy for picking out the background music.

In which format, it could be a pretty cool MMO. I thought about it within the context of a traditional RPG, but I can't see anyone doing it well with the proper scope of size and distance.

 

I agree with this 100%, I just think that it won't happen and if it did, chances are it would be very sub-par. But given the Jackson treatment this would probably be very very good.
