If you start a hippy commune for turtles I will send them to you.

And yes, the fish get killed too. They are very tasty.

I'm thinking you've never had lobster. They get thrown into a cauldron of boiling water whilst still alive. they taste yummy.

Here's a story about how dumb turtles are and why you don't want to grab snapping turtles

    Lobsters are tasty.

Im not saying all turtles need to be exterminated from the earth, there is a place for them and it aint in my fishing pond! On a serious note, they eat the fish eggs, they eat the baby fish, they will eat the bigger ones if they can. If you dont take care of them, you will have a pond with no fishes. Then the turtles starve to death. Or they start eating birds and squirells that venture to close to the water.

I think that you are eliminating them in a humane way, fcuk letting them ruin your pond. Frogs can be a pain in the ass in a pond too, but you only need a pellet/bb gun to cure that problem.

Do you really need the 7.62x39 to kill the turtles or is it just more fun with an AK rather than a .22 rifle or pistol. I've got to find a place to try out my keltec pistol (.223) with the eotech on a bunch of savage turtles. the pic is not my exact gun, just an example of it.

You could always catch them or at least eat the ones you killed or give them to someone else to eat. They don't deserve to be slaughtered in vain.

That's right. They don't want to get their dockers dirty.

I'd rather shoot them. He looks and acts like he should have had a role in Deliverence telling Ned Beatty to "sqeal like a pig boy".

    OKEY DOKEY....

I used to use the .22, but then if you dont hit them just right (the head) it could be a painful death. There's not a whole lot of call for Turtle soup. The 7.62 really keeps the n'er do wells of the property. It has a very distinct sound. :)

So dan and pukey, do you all feel the same way about kiling rats, roaches, and termites? Or does it end with turtles cause they are sooooo cute?

Such a weak point. Termites are like parasites. Would I let a tapeworm live inside me? No.

When a turtle starts destroying my house, we'll talk. And if they did, I would catch them and let them go like I did when I had mice.

I have never had to deal with rats or roaches.

Spiders get to live in my garage. The ones I find in the house are captured and placed outside. If they come back in, so be it.

Turtles aren't pests quit making shit up. You just like shooting them because your an A-1 asshole.

"In farm ponds, turtles undoubtedly compete with fish for natural food sources such as crayfish and insects. Turtles, however, are valuable because they kill diseased and weakened fish, and clean up dead or decaying animal matter."

And yes, they do eat bad fish, but bad fish come from bad ponds. an over abundance of turtles eat up all the food the fish eat, therefore killing the fish, making the pond useless.

I'm not trying to make a point, I was just wanting to see if it was 'all living things' or just certain ones you had an afinity to.

You must have a tiny pond. Did you get it a Lowe's?

You could trap them if you really wanted.

From the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division:

Turtles are a great natural resource. It does not make sense to wipe out the entire turtle population when they move onto your property. For this reason, the preferred method of dealing with problems is to trap and remove the turtles which are causing the damage and relocate them at least 10 miles away.

    4 acre pond.

I dont kill all the turtles. When you trap turtles, if you arent there everyday to check the traps, it is just is a way of killing them slower, because they just sit in the trap and starve to death.

Which is why you can have someone else do it.

You just want to shoot your gun.
