Does anyone know what is happening with the sudden interest in rural properties in South Central Texas lately? There seems to be an awful lot of interest in property surrounding metropolitan areas lately, and I wonder if this can be attributed to the recent trend of wealthy people looking for country homesteads within commuting distance from larger metropolitan areas, or strictly people seeking to distance themselves from 'big city life?' Is this something that other states and municipalities are noticing, too?
I don't know about Texas, but real estate should be getting real cheap in phoenix, I saw a picture of a suburb with listings with little green signs and foreclosures with little gavels, and there were a lot of green signs and gavels.
Developers that have extended themselves to far using cheap ARM rates are eager to offload properties before losing their asses when the rates start to climb and they are left paying the bill on unsold properties. As for urban flight well it's been going on for years. However one should wonder if people likewise are once again taking advantage of the really good rates right now.
That’s not south central just outside the city limits. But as for the border fence I would not doubt it that people would buy up tracks of land just to extort money from the government. That is if it were not for eminent domain.
