OC housing prices are obscene right now. My parents sold the house when they got divorced 3 years ago. 1600 sq. ft. on a 1/4 acre of land. With a pool, 586k. It's already gone up to 750k. Apartment out here are about $1.50-$3.00 per sq. ft. The real estate market is still growing out here as well. I think it went up 25% last year in Orange County, 21% in L.A. county. I'm hoping the bubble will flatten out, but I don't see that happening any time soon.
Well this is how pathetic it is around here. We had a house growing up, nice neighborhood, 2 story, 4BD 2.5 bds, sold in 88 for 118K, the house today is 'worth' over 300K. 2500 sqft. 3/4 acre yard Most the new houses, even in the low income side of town are now up over 125k. Which sucks if you are looking to 'upsize' I did find a 2300SQ ft on 2Acres for 184.
Either you're heavily subsidised, Reiz, or you meant US$200 a week. Or you live somewhere west of Toowoomba.
Let's get this straight. $70 per week, to live in Brisvegas, in a 3 bedroom home. Now, this is not just your share of the group house rent, is it? Because when I do a search for accommodation in Central Brisbane under $100 a week, all I get is this. And that aint no 3 bedroom house, that's $100 per ROOM student accommodation.
Yes, you do. 1k gets ye a 3 bedroom house, two full car garage (no pets allowed). Too bad the pay is SHIT.
Hey, Ive all ready got cheap accomodations. I was just going to say Reiz could stay for free* in my camper....in my yard.
Can I just point out that Reiz is being heavily subsidised by the generosity of her friend/landlord. Looks to me like her place is worth AU$1000 a month, minimum, on the open rental market. Here in Sydney, you won't find anything within a sensible (say half hour travel time) distance of the city for under $140 a week, and that would be a studio apartment in a shithouse block. My house (2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, needed heaps of renovation work when I bought it, on a main road, little garden, about 20 minutes from town) cost $500,000 Australian (approx US$380,000) two years ago. Now that I've fixed it up and made it purdy, I could probably rent it out for say $320 a week (US$240 a week, or a tad under a grand a month).
