I liked Platoon, thought JFK was trash. Any given Sunday? It was all right, Im sure that it was about as real to life as JFK. Born on the fourth of July was pretty good.

Its amazing to see the movies he's made. A good one, then a herd of shitty ones. Then a decent one, then more shitty ones. So WTC should be pretty good.

Good - The Doors, Platoon, Wallstreet, Natural Born Killers, 4th of July, People Vs. Larry Flynt

What the Fuck was he thinking - Zebra Head, South Central, JFK, Nixon, Alexander, oh and The Joy Luck Club.

I thought The Doors movie kinda sucked, but then again I think Jim Morrison was a no talent hippy douchebag. The band had some talent but he was just a retard.

JFK and Nixon are terrific. Natural Born Killers is a big budget exploitation film, a boomer's desperate attempt to provide thrills for the young people. I'm really curious re Commandante, his Fidel interview but apparently the gusanos have had it supressed.

I myself don't much care for him. Not one of his movies has ever entertained me from begining to finish. In fact I find myself wishing his films had ended far before they actually do. I know a lot of you will throw Natural Born Killers at me, which was in my opinion, his most enjoyable movie (not his smartest, just most watchable overall), but even that movie was far to long and self indulgent (which is Oliver's M.O. in my humble estimation). I'm not saying he isn't a brillant director, but the thread IS called "love him or hate him" There isn't really much inbetween on this director for most people. I could live with out him.

And his latest attempt at a film doesn't help his cause in my book.
