The fact of the matter is that most people have most things in common, they only squabble over the details. That is why I fault both the administration and the insurgency. They both have the same values, they just have different ways of expressing them.
Most people down at our level of existence do with each other. It's the ruling classes who have a different set of values. By 'insurgency' are you referring to the Iraqi Resistance? Because from where i'm standing the people who fight to defend their country from outside brutality and oppression are brave, honorouble , and are in direct opposition to the greedy, cowardly, lying warmongering Bush Administration. And though i'm sure there are some who have selfish ulterior motives in mind, i think on the whole these people are fighting for the love of their families, friends and nation. Believe it or not, some people would rather die than take America's cock up their ass while Cheney shoots their mothers and daughters in their faces.
Excellent Cheney reference, if you were here I would hug you. But I'd say the same thing about the American troops on the ground, who have the same basic values as the insurgents, in that they want whats best for the American public. I don't verbally support the war in Iraq, but since I do pay taxes to the United States government, I am in fact a war supporter, as are you by paying taxes to the British government. I don't know what that has to do with what we're talking about, but I feel it's relevant somewhere in this whole big mess.
maybe I misworded this wrong, Islam is a religion of peace, and unity over tyranny thousands of years ago. Hey if you want to be peaceful, maybe help the less fortunate, than kudos, but to let a sill cartoon take a perceful freligion to the street, burn buildings, kill people, then have Osma promise the death of thousands, isn't that a double edged sword? Before you just on my ass and say you muslim racists, I thin christianiyt is just as hippocriticaal, right to life during the day, then at a public exicution sat night. Right to life, then blow up a planed parenthood so they can kill a few dozen people... See I believe religion is the biggest cause of fatalities in the world. not aids, not herion, heart desease, religion. Lets all pith in and make all religions illegal
My view on religion is 'don't throw out the baby with the bathwater'. I've found great seeds of wisdom from many different religions. Because the problem isn't really religion itself but those who distort it to suit their own personal agendas of power and control, and they aren't going to disappear if religion is banned. It's never going to be that simple.
The best example being the West's middle eastern ally, Saudi Arabia.. Imperialism is Mother of Saudi Fundamentalism Believe it or not, the West has been directly and indirectly responsible for the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. This is why you have to scratch below the surface, because there is much, much more to all of this than we are being told.
All I know is I can't wait for these holocaust drawings the president of Iran called for to start showing up.
Ann Coulters artical fits so well into this discussion. http://www.anncoulter.com/cgi-local/article.cgi?article=99 She successfully makes the point so compellingly that the Muslims were looking for an excuse to riot in the first place. It’s their nature. Consider the recent sinking of that ship and the reaction by the Muslims. It’s not as if the company thought "we got this old ship with a heft insurance policy and besides we hate those damn Muslims. Let's have a nice little Muslim promotional fair. We can effectively load the ship up with the nasty little fuckers and then sink the ship." To look at the Muslims reaction you would think that this were the case.
