Ok that last post was lame, but asked for. My question is how many of you have actually met a true fucking anarchist, no government and the like? Most of the anarchists I've met are merely parasites on the system, getting their government handout every fortnight. Or else they've got themselves into so much financial and legal shit that they've turned into new age travellers. The types that siphon your car, shit in your garden and leave your sister tripped out on hippy drugs. Some of them are pretty good at juggling though.

in the same vein... i went to the london city demos in '99... the so-called 'city riots' i was workin behind the stock exchange and when i left work the police had closed all the tube/rail stations and fenced all the demonstrators in.. me included *grrr* oh well, i thought... what the fuck.. i might as well soak up some of this atmosphere... feeling a bit peckish... and being in the city sandwich shops are fuckin expensive.. i thought i'd pop along to McDonalds and grab a bite to eat... only to find it had been smashed up... for being a symbol of corporate capitalism... so starving and slightly pissed off.... i wandered along checking out all the *cool* displays of youthful exuberance... observing all these shenanigans i came to the conclusion... what's the fucking point... the city workers who you are trying to get a message across to are just pissed off and tired and want to get home... and you are making it a fuckin pain in the arse to do so... and the lying in the road trick... who are you obstructing... delivery guys, couriers, etc... people who are gonna lose out on wages because they can't deliver their packages... and most people resignedly accept the fact we live in a money driven consumerist society... they just get on with it... and people who decide to 'sign on, tune in and drop out' should drop the fuck out of society altogether and not leech cash from the dole... 'cos i'm sure i don't wanna pay out 25% of my wages each week to support your dreadlock growing and hash smoking.... and anyway... any messages you are trying to get across will only be drowned out in the press by the adverse publicity of violence... and i know a lot of these protesters are peaceful and don't wanna riot... but if you are drawing attention to the underhand habits of global corporations... riots WILL happen... even if every protester there has nothing but peace on their minds... because the lobbyists who work for these arms dealing companies and oil companies etc.. pay tattooed thugs to incite violence...

It should be said that anarchism, before it became "fashionable" for the mohawked youth of today, was (and is) a very serious school of political thought. I know several committed anarchists who dress conservatively, speak softly and who are complete humanitarians. They're much more comfortable in soup kitchens and libraries than in rock concerts and public riots. And no, they don't mooch off of the system, though they do take advantage of, and surreptiously obtain, its "waste" (e.g., believe it or not, they go "dumpster diving.") And they're not doing this by necessity - they have money. Half of them are grad students, actually. Instead, such acts are a function of their moral compass. Spare income is donated to the poor.
