I can understand why you would say that but you need to understand this country is a representative republic. Local state laws are not the same as federal laws. Ideally you choose the state you most agree with regarding local laws and choose to live there. You could become involved in the process of changing the laws but really here we are talking about corruption basically and Arkansas has always been like that as far as I can remember however, when we are talking about ineptitude of government workers regardless of local or federal. Excuse me? I did exactly what the DMV said to do. I explained exactly the circumstances to the Police, and he agreed that the tag was being used illegally and that the person knew it was illegal. That equals theft by deception. If he didn't think it was a theft, he wouldn't have taken the report. I made it clear that I left the tag on the car.
You said you reported the tags stolen. You didn't say that you gave a report to the cops. You said you reported the tags stolen. The cops decide the charge not you based upon the evidence. With your line of reasoning you could have her charged with murder because "the cops took the report it must be true". The cops always take a report even if your cat is up a tree. Reminds me of a situation with my grandparents a while back. They had just bought a new car here in San Antonio, then took it back with them to the town they live in. The car had not been here since then. Several months pass, and finally they get a letter from SAPD explaining that a warrant had been issued for an unpaid parking ticket on a downtown street. The problem was, they weren't anywhere near downtown, nor SA for that matter, since the day they bought the car (interestingly enough, a week or two before the supposed 'ticket'). Letter after letter was written, and even though the ticket was for some paltry sum ($20?), they were ready to get a lawyer on principle alone. What really pissed them (and me) off was the attitude of the people downtown that they spoke to. One even said "Oh, just pay the fine and it'll be removed..." The fact that they can 'claim' that you broke the law, without having any proof whatsoever, and for you to fight it - well, they're going to need some proof. Call it stubborn, but it's disturbing to think that you can be held accountable for something you didn't do, and have no way to fight for it. Eventually, they dropped the ticket, citing a nonspecific "error" on their part. Guess they thought someone was finally going to blow the cover on their scam. Remember, Barry - the day we stop fighting for our rights is the day we lose them. I applaud your efforts to fight this, and even though it would be easy to pay it and move on, you're doing what's right, and that's what matters. How's the correspondence with the newspaper going?

There is absolutely no reason for me to go into a business deal with a psychologist. I am going into Neurology. I would have no legal authority or desire to treat those types of patients. I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. It doesn't even make sense. As far as business opportunities is I wanted to make a lot of money I would try to get into running a pain clinic which can bring upwards of a 1/2 a million a yr. Right now I am concerned with learning medicine so I can give people the treatment they deserve while in residency including cases of stroke, epilepsy, parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, ect....
