This is a piece of shit, Windows ME, 800MHZ Duron, 64MB RAM, Office 2K. Outlook is throwing up a MSVCRT error when opening. Sucks right? Not as much as this crappy PC. Ive done a bunch of crap to it, like all the KB say, of course this thing takes about 4 minutes to boot each time, then it takes about 10 minutes to finally get the OS ready to actually do anything. So here is my plan, 1. Sell them more RAM 2. Install XP PRO 3. Install Office 03 (hacked) Cause all the MS KB bullshit didnt fix a motha fuckin thing. Sorry just bitching for wasting a part of my life with this piece of Comaq and MS shit. Back to your regularly scheduled programming..........
Sounds like a plan to me. I think for regular consumers microsoft shit sould be real cheap to practly free. They put out crap that wastes peoples time then to hell with them they diserve to have their products hacked.
Yea, you know its bad when the MS KB says to download third party software to repair. Like no shit. This fucking pile......I ought to put fedora on it and be done with it..........
Yes, my MS madness has finally pushed me to join the Linux cult myself. I've got an old emachine that I'm going to experiment on first before I install it on my main system. Trouble is figuring out which is the right distro for me? Some of these are a bit out of date, but I've got to say that after seeing them I'm leaning towards Ubuntu. Trouble is, I'm not entirely sure how my husband would feel about me looking at pictures of naked women.
He wont mind..... I have Ubuntu running in a VMPlayer VM. It is pretty sweet. Its just a web browser(running Mozilla FireFox). If you want to try it out just go to VM.com download the free player, and pick up some of the free VMs. You have to run windows to run them, but you can get a good idea of what they are like. If you have Win2K server laying around, you can get the free vmserver and create your own VMs, pretty fucking sweet.
