Went to the Monster Jam today, it was my first time at a monster truck show - I must say, I had a blast! It was loud, they were blaring heavy metal between trucks, and they had beer there (I didn't get any, though - $5.50 for a 12-16 oz *plastic* bottle of Bud/Bud Light and Miller Lite just doesn't do it for me... Knew I should've brought a flask, they didn't even frisk us).

Anyway, some friends bought me a ticket, so I checked it out and ended up snapping about 80 pics while I was there... Here's a few of the highlights:

"El Toro Loco" - Easily the nicest looking truck out there, sadly, by the end of the show we ended up calling it "El Toro No-Go." It died on it's first race:

And when they finally got it running again for the "Freestyle" competetion, after the first jump...

Now this guy had some balls. The truck's called "Inferno" and it was doing some of the highest jumps of the whole show...

Unfortunately (snicker), he took one too many risks...

And, as before, they had to call in the Caterpillar to pull the mangled mess away... I said they should just put that mofo on the stack of cars to be crushed...

Gravedigger stole the show, though... That had to have been the best driver out there, by a long shot. He knew when to punch it, when to turn, how to make a big-ass cloud of dust, and just how much his truck would take without getting a scratch on it. I bow to the driver.

See, this is how Inferno should've landed from his jump:

One of my favorites of the show was "Destroyer" - aptly named, too - during his qualifying lap at the beginning, he ended up taking out half the signs in the arena...

He also holds the record for the best wheelie of the evening...

The best jump of the show was done by this one, "Black *something*" - can't remember the name, but it was a nice looking truck, and halfway through his freestyle run his truck was driving sideways and he had to quit...

Oh yeah, and the "Bounty Hunter" caught on fire during the racing - I only wish I had a shot ready as it passed by us in flames...

Honestly, it was a blast to live the true redneck dream and see one of these things live... I just wish I was one of the mofo's sitting in the driver's seat of one of those rigs - you just know that shit's fun...

Oh, I know... I mean, after all, it's so much better to be breathing in all that dust and exhaust fumes anyway...

only one truck flipped i was kinda pissed, it just sort of tipped over.

The demolition durby was pretty sweet at theend, and grave digger owned everyone.

there was some bullshit storylines when i went.
some quad biker bashed canada, and "sabbotaged" a canadian guys bike in a race, so they went 1 on 1.
    it was like wrestling.

ive never seen more whitetrash anywhere than there, it was great.

That's exactly what I thought of when they brought on the motocross shit - it was all staged, and even though you knew it was fake, it was still entertaining.

Oh, and if Inferno got fixed by then, too...
