Moderators

Barry, can you find any way to moderate in your own forum? How about Lomotil and Schmed? I set it up exactly as it is supposed to be and for some reason, it's not possible for the Moderator to actually Moderate.

I'm working on this.

 

I haven't figured aout a way to moderate yet.

I like the new look. I am not nearly as ashamed to be here as I used to be.

 

That's one vote for the blue theme. Literally everyone else seems like they want to go with the "I must be doing something wrong by being here because the background is black" original Fugly theme.

I can not figure out how to get this moderator thing working. I'm working on it. One good thing is that it seems to have deterred the spammers.

 

Well don't you have to set up a mod group then select which sections said mods control.

 

Good Job there Capt. Everything seems to be working well. As far as the color, The slime green and blind man black was fine with me. This bright look is kind of hard on the eyes.

 

What are you saying? Now you are able to see the mod links? I didn't change anything. How did it all of a sudden start working?

It must have been turned off in my profile by default. I went into the profile settings under "look and layout" and changed the setting for "quick moderating" from "don't show" to "icons".

I didn't realize it at the time, but that must have enabled the links to moderate.

 

Speaking of seesaws, which door are YOU picking these days?

Barry, will you send me a screenshot of what you can see? I set myself up as the moderator in the temporary Spam forum so I could test it but I still can not see any moderation links, even after enabling that setting in my profile.

Schmed and Lomotil, do you guys have any trouble? Does anyone else moderate a forum? I forget.

 

GO into your profile Jefe and turn quick mod to show. That should get all the icons showing.

The link to moderate is labeled "modify." Top right corner of a post. Note that you have to open a post to see it. They do not appear on the list page. The choices are Quote - Modify - Remove - Split -Topic

 

Barry, to do a screen shot, press CTRL + Print Screen, and paste it into Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint (via Edit > Paste), then File > Save As > change type to JPEG.

What is it exactly that you are trying to do?

 

Jefe wants picture of my panel to see where the moderator button is located. Thanks. I should have know how to do that but I didn't.

yeah, that is exactly how it's supposed to look. I don't understand why I can't see them. I log in. I click on Profile. Under Modify Profile, I click on Look and Layout Preferences. At the bottom it says, Show quick-moderation on message index as:. I change that to Icons and hit Change Profile. I go back to the Spam forum, which I am supposed to moderate and I see none of the icons you see. Am I missing something? Is that all that you changed?

 

when you go to the spam forum you have to open one of the subjects. There is no control panel for the list.

 

Do you have yourself in the admin or moderator group in the control panels?
