So there I was, listening to Kittie's version of Run like Hell, and I realized, I haven't made a Best Covers CD yet...

So here's the deal... I know I've got quite a few of 'em laying around the house on soundtracks/albums/etc, I'm looking for the Fugly opinion on what the best covers ever made are...

Annotation: Submit any and every cover you've heard in recent memory, regardless of your personal tastes, The Reverend Bitchslap will decide on his own if it is to be deemed good enough for placement on his compilation CD...

must this only be metal/industrial? i heard the Ramones doing Spiderman the other day and Dead Kenndy's doing Viva Las Vegas and Rawhide. which is not in that category.

Well, pretty much anything goes, but I'd like to steer far away from anything country or pop, so the Ramones would qualify...

What I'd like to do is make a CD (hell, maybe even a 2-3 disc set, depending on the degree of the responses) of nothing but 'new' covers of older songs... I've got somewhat of a thing for 'em, and I'd like to put 'em all in one place for future drunken enjoyment...

Alright G-money fresh, you seemed to have missed the whole topic of this thread which is COVER songs,Seasons of the Abyss is a SLAYER album and it was originaly done by SLAYER.

That means that it is not a COVER song. Are we clear now?

i'm probably going to get butchered for this because this seems all like harder rock related tunes, but how about old funk and soul? they are always covering each others tunes. i like a wide variety of stuff and i am afraid to say it, but if you are feeling mellow do you like ricki lee jones at all? she has done a bunch of good covers. if you like that sort of thang.
