Can any of the Techie geeks out there tell me how to stop my internet explorer reloading my pages every 2min?
Stranger - If it's what I think it is, go to TOOLS/Internet Options... page. On General tab, in middle section "Temporary Internet Files", click "Settings". In 'Check for newer versions of stored pages...', change from your current setting (what is it, by the way?) to "Never". This essentially disables all reloading of cached content unless the user orders it via Refresh. You can adjust it more leniently from there as you wish. If this doesn't solve your problem, PM me with more specifics of what you're experiencing. ----- ...Oh, and Spanky69? That site looked pretty cool and useful to me - although I'm not a programmer per se (not in C, C++ or the like, anyway), I have respect for those who possess such skill...and little for monosyllabic pundits such as I suspect you of being. Can't wait to see the appearance of your first post containing more than one simple - and simple-minded - sentence. Helpful observation: Beavis & Butthead were occasionally funny cartoon characters, not role models to admire and emulate.

gotta love the goverment brainwashing in action.. "you will be 'normal', you will work hard, you will pay taxes like everyone else and this is the only chance we're giving you..have a nice day"
So could any TGs or chat room junkies enlighten me: Is an 'addy' my ISP address? And why is it a problem is someone has this?
Addy is an URL (uniform Resources Locator, like www.fuglyporn.com) ISP address I assume is a location of a server. I think you mean IP address which is Internet protocol, its your personal ID on the wonderful inter-web... it tlets people trace you, and gives them access to your PC

quote:
Originally posted by Stranger: Is an 'addy' my ISP address?

'Addy' is short for address, most commonly referring to email address <somebody @wherever.com>. I suppose it may also be used as shorthand for IP address, or IP#, a unique 32-bit number which every node (computer) on a TCP/IP protocol network must have in order to communicate with other nodes. If you connect to the net via dialup, your ISP temporarily assigns your computer one of their available IP#s. You don't always get the exact same one across sessions. If you connect via cable, DSL or ISDN, you likely have a fixed IP# (always the same).
quote Email can be if abused: spam, harassment. Can also be used to cross-reference various online personas people use (chat service profiles)that may be linked by a common email address to glean additional personal information the user may have carelessly, naively posted online (as many Fugly Victims can attest to)
