I think federally funding a healthcare solution is the problem. If the government steps in and offers a low monthly fee health insurance (that is supported by tax dollars) then why would you pay your work for more expensive healthcare that is basically the same coverage amount? The government funded option would push private insurers out eventually. Because, like labor in China, the government is over it. Free enterprise is what built this country. Maybe the government should step in and put a foot down and tell private insurers that : 1) no you cant deny someone service because of a 'pre-existing' condition 2)you can not price gouge those that do have a condition -there are thousands of people in this country that have healthcare that just dont use it, there is no reason to raise rates because someone does need it- 3) limit ridiculous litigation that awards people 20 million because a dr. cutoff the wrong foot. it's just a foot, probably only worth about 35k a year at best. (I am a firm believer in sharpies and if you are having surgery on an apendage, mark it, and mark the one that isnt being touched NO!) Or make the federal plan be paid for by increased taxes on Cigarettes, Alcohol, and Fried foods, yep I said it fried foods! Legalize Marijuana and tax the bejeebus out of it. Dont give free healthcare to illegal immigrants. They want free health care? Put an RFID tag in their ass and send them back to wherever they came from. They get picked up crossing back into the country illegally, pow. Game Over.
Bullshit... You just saw a long-winded post of mine where I emphasized the last sentence, and dismissed it as inane drivel. Wanna fuck?
