I want to see this movie. I love animated movies from Dreamworks and Pixar (Pixar is like god of movies to me currently, though I hated monsters Inc.). Dreamworks usually takes the more "lol innuendo" humor while Pixar knows how to make things just plain funny. Either way, the movie looks fun.
I took the kids to see it saturday. It was pretty good. I thought it was very funny. With Ian McShane doing to the voice for the bad cat I was waiting for a bunch of F bombs to come out, but all in all it was pretty good. Jack Black is a much better actor when all he is doing is the voice.
How dare you say and unkind word about the D. OK, Pick of Destiny was not great. JB also voiced the main shark in Shark's Tale. It was ok. Haven't seen the Panda yet.
I think his retarded facial expressions tick me off. Its like he tries to be the most over the top person on the screen at any given time. The panda kicks the sharks butt. It was a lot better than a sharks tale.
It did well enough to pump out a sequel, which would probably have a Jackal or something as the evil master of all kung fu whooping on them for half the movie until they learn the true value of friendship. There will be a love intrest (surprise), and it will probably be either much better (Shrek 2) or much worse (sequels in general) than this. Overall, I'd see it. Trying to spot which of the big name voice actors wouldn't come back for it.
Who has a more gravely voice than Ian McShane? Maybe they could actually get someone with more of an, oh I dont know, Asian Accent? Jackie Chan as the monkey was funny, but he didnt say anything. Which was the funny part. Maybe James Earl Jones could do the bad guy voice. Or Joe Pesci.
Ill probably take my girlfriend out to watch WallE in theaters ( a rarity!) she's into those kinda movies.
Im probably going to watch it tonight after i download it...just got to wait for ER Season 1 to finish then ill start it!
