You know, it's sad but I rarely venture into Cold Sober now. The endless debate over Middle Eastern politics is doing my head in. Not so much the information, though there's copious amounts of that. It's the rabid conviction from all sides that they're going to change the other sides' positions, when all the evidence points to the exact opposite, that I find frustrating. Uggh. Too many words for General Mayhem. I'm going to lie down.

If it really was all just as futile as that, i'd not still be posting. Though i admit, at times it does seem like that and it can be off-putting. People like Lucy Harper were never going to alter their opinions because their ideas are so predetermined. But then there are the shining miracles. Anyway, you always get like this about whichever area is generating most posts, last time it was the Shamsez stuff which was creating a lot of activity that you found tediously boring. You're just being a morose, whiney drunken bastard.

Actually, I'm more than a little into postcolonial analysis. Together with class theory, it explains a fuck of a lot about what has happened and is happening in this crazy little world of ours. Certainly more than all the paranoid delusions and postmodern wank, religious zealotry and talkback radio that we're routinely exposed to. Land and class. When you get right down to it, it's all land and class.
Do a post on it then and quit your whining. I mean moping. I'd be interested in reading it. Just don't write it like a goddamn post graduate thesis. Though if you do, diogenes and XerxesX will come along postulating with 'academicisms' bulging out of every orifice.
