I know its getting made into a movie, but, Ender's Game. I'm not saying its going to be a great movie, I'm just saying the story has a lot of potential. Also, Dune Messiah would a good move.
I'd like to see what Peter Jackson does with The Hobbit, and I'd love to see a re-make of Sullivan's Anne of Green Gables and Dicken's Our Mutual Friend.
I'd love to see R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt books made into movies. Animated or otherwise. Actually some college students made an animated short once, let me see if I can still find it.
Let's face it though. Most of the time, if you liked the book, the movie disappoints. (Think Shipping News as a perfect recent example.) Oooh, that gives me an idea. I'm off to start another thread.
Who gave you permission to talk faggot... you are too busy in the woods with no electricty to watch a movie... I digress, I would like to see remakes of the BAD Thomas HArris books, made inch by inch like the books... Silence of the Lambs was the closest, and red dragon was OKAY...
True, I hate having to ride in the back of a truck all the way into the city to the public library to use the computers, but there's no other way I can look up your mom on myspace.
As far as books into movies, I would love the Gunslinger Series by king made into a series done like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. Release the Movies one a year.
Please don't let anyone attempt to turn any of my favorite books into movies. I've seen too many slaughtered already.
I agree that a lot of books are stuck in their mediums, but I didn't say favorites. Just some books follow a format that could lend to a good movie.
The Day Before Midnight by Stephen Hunter would be a great movie. His work is similar to Tom Clancy. Without spoiling anything, terrorists take over an independent ICBM silo. If you're a fan of Special Ops, I suggest this book.
There was a book I read a long time ago and I can't remember the name of it. But it was about some scientists in Antarctica, one discovered a meteor that would be worth millions, he ended up dead, then someone started knocking off the people that were there. It would have made a predictable but decent movie. I have to find that book....
Has anyone made a movie of "Perfume" by Patrick Susskind? It was a bloody top book, but might translate just as well to the screen.
