U.S. Muslims Warn of Threat From Within Recommended reading sometimes cooler heads and logic prevails. Let's not screw it up with rhetoric designed to drive a wedge of hatred and distrust.
"Islam teaches peace" We had a Muslim member of my Nat'l Guard unit who gave us all a short class on Islam before we deployed. He assured us that devout Muslims would not condone violence. Much like I would say that devout Christians would not condone the bombing of an abortion clinic.
Yeah its a bit ironic but a move in the right direction since they are addressing their message at their group of followers. This to me seems more sincere. Before they I believe made symbolic remarks addressing the country that they are not violent etc. (never did by the way truly condemn the terrorist acts). I believe there are radical sects of their religion and I believe there may be a legitimate effort from within to oppose the radicals. Or at least I can optimistically look at it that way for now till I find otherwise.
