if a person wanted to "act" insane so they are put in an asylum for a few days, get REALLY good drugs, just to say, take a vacation from school, how would they act? What would they say?
There was an experiment done once; grad students walked in and reported hearing voices on one occation. All were admited. The students didn't do anything out of the ordinary. All of their behaviors were attributed to their percieved illness (students keeping notes were reported to be 'obsessive journaling'). Typically residents figured it out before the staff ever did. There's a line in the sand, Dwaine. You just have to convince them which side yer on. Self admission means you can leave at anytime as long as you're no threat to our delicate world.
They would say "bad idea" because having the words "previous inpatient psychiatric admission" on their medical records for the rest of their life looks bad on a job application, insurance application, etc. Just take a few days off and go fishing. My next trip leaves on Nov 5, and costs 800.00 per person. That is pretty cheap compared to the cost of staying on a psych ward for a few days. If you really want to get admitted, drink a bottle of bleach. If you survive, you can count on a 30 day vacation.
Did I just see Barry break one of his own "rules"? Or is it okay because the precise words "go kill yourself" were never used?
