Gadsden and Cullman have got to be the two most redneck places on earth. I had the privelege of establishing foster care agencies in both places. The people from Gadsden could barely read, and not a single Black family even applied for training in Cullman. I actually lived in Cullman County for 11 months. It was pure hell. The people were so PROUD that there were no Blacks in the school system. I literally brushed the dirt off of my shoes when I left.

We have a few places similar to that in GA. Its amazing the drop in education/civilization when you get outside of any moderate sized city. Augusta has some rural suburbs that are only about 20 minutes outside of town, but its like driving 35 years back in time when you go there. I think the pre-requisite is a gurleys/IGA and a Mack's country store.
