Walking in Silence through woods of furry reaching pines and age old extending oak, Tiny fuzzy inch worms crawling up our arms, big cute bug eyes and hyper-colour neon glow in the dark super-duper green and red hairy aliens everywhere we look. The old wise man, the broken willow tree, singing sorrowful soliloquies of senseless suffering about broken bullet-proof hearts and love of life lost in loneliness, silly games one plays with two pulling, poking, personalities crunching like gears whose teeth aren’t quite aligned single moments impossibly trying to quench two egos when there is only now for the experience of two to be one in fighting, arguing, senseless words, games.
Most modern folks live in a media saturated environment composed of 99% fantasy and 1% 'news'. An hour of TV news contains four columns of newsprint worth of material. This 'day to day' reality makes the proliferation of wild rumors leading to various dangerous frenzies possible. Crazed tales spread by the Web could quickly escalate to a ferment of international chaos via 'mind viruses' composed of cobbled together myths of space rabies, moon madness or interdimensional fish or whatever. The mass hysteria induced by a believable enough story could; theoretically; end civilization as we know it. Drowning in dreams in a manner of speaking. There is considerable evidence that quite a number of ancient societies were ended almost overnight by forms of mass hysteria. Things that might trigger such a response are best left alone. The thought of a planet wide stampede of panic stricken people is not something to be taken lightly. It can happen if the wrong story goes the right way. The 'cover ups' Barry has told me of sound like something along those lines. The Weekly World News is nothing compared to the 'real truth' that awaits the souls brave enough to truly study his fellow man. Reality and illusion are irrelevant to the current of History. A distant drummer need not be real to be heard. Rumor and gossip have always ruled the world, the winds of change.
