I have a cheap ass hp psc 1210.

    It no longer works.

I press the 'power' button and nada.

It is plugged in. I changed power cords AND outlets and the damn thing still won't power on.

I feel like this outlet could have fried it's power supply. It has already taken down my pc's power supply and motherboard.

    Ideas?

    Advice:

Buy a two-way ticket to Texas, come down here and suck a man's dick named Lomo - then get the fuck back on the plane and hope the printer fixes itself in the meantime.

    Thanks for NOTHING.

It's called a ROUND TRIP ticket.

I think I would rather take it to a TECHNICIAN or buy a NEW ONE than do what you are suggesting.

Lomo's way sounds much more fun, why don't you open your mind (and mouth) to a new expierence, throw caution to the wind and try Lomo's way?

Well, you'd best pack some Ipecac for your trip then...

if your power supply is fried, then the printer is pretty much fried. i would suggest not using that plug or getting a ups power supply if you must use it.

It was plugged into a surge protector. It must have something to do with the power supply. I doubt the power button is bad.

I just bought the stupid thing about 2 months ago. Dunno if I have the receipt still or not.

Or, you go to WalMart or whereever and buy (with cash) the same printer again. Bring it home and swap the good for the bad, and take it back. If its under $50 you won't get many, if any questions.

You're clever, you'll think of some fable to tell them if they want to know why.

If yer worried, take it back durring a busy time where a line is more than likely.

    Luck and stuff.

When you say 'power cords' - do you mean one of the simple AC cords that go straight from the two-prong AC outlet to a fitted end (like the PS2, Dreamcast, Saturn, Xbox, (etc), or one of the ones that converts AC to DC (There would be a 'box' shaped plastic housing somewhere on it)...?

A Multi-Meter would be an excellent tool to have at this point. You can find them dirt cheap just about anywhere - especially if you know of a 'Harbor Freight Tools' store (read: China Tool Emporium)...

This is probably more than you care for, so I agree with Hack here... Bite the big one and go to the dreaded Wal-Mart for once...

Printers are dirt cheap these days, and if you have an old one you're going to spend more on a set of cartridges for it than it'd cost to replace it with a new one anyway...

    My $0.02
