Here's the deal... I need a program that'll let me rip a DVD-Video to a 700 meg DIVX mpeg. I want to rip my Kentucky Fried Movie and burn a VCD out of it because for some reason that particular DVD is incompatible with my DVD player... but my DVD player will also play VCD's, so I'm thinking that I could make a lower-quality version of my movie on a CD-R, and finally watch it from the comfort of my lazyboy. Any and all help is appreciated...

i know you're intelligent enough to sort it out yourself, i can't be assed explaining how to work it... but here i've uploaded a re-encoder for you... you need some plug-ins/dll's... the readme tells you which... if you can't find them..( ) i'll send 'em thru msn next time i see you.. oh and here's a bitrate calculator...
i hope you have plenty of processor speed tho... it takes fucking forever... it's pretty intensive stuff... took 23 hours to re-encode the south park movie on a pII 450
I'm running an Athlon T-bird 800 (soon to be upgraded), w/ 512 megs of PC133 and a 16X DVD drive... I started it a while back, and I'm only 12% through so far (45% of the Video done)... 'course, I have been doing other shit at the same time... I imagined it'd take forever to do, no matter what kind of computer is running it... I'm just happy I can finally do this shit. Thanks again! BTW: When I'm done, we can spend 23 days sending the mpeg over msn...
