Handicapped do you really expect me to believe that?

The insidious left has crept into society and is thoroughly entrenched. They just love there beloved social policies they enact upon the masses. Personally until I become extremely uncomfortable with it due to some real and legitimate ailment or injury, before I ever take advantage of handicapped parking permits. I will be the one who simply drives into that crowded parking lot parks in the back where places are abundant and easy to find. And walk you know we are to damn sedentary these days anyways. Meanwhile regardless of any potential dilemma I doubt I’ll ever stand in a line to fill out the proper paperwork for some favor from society granting me the privilege to jump in front of everyone and get a front parking spot.

It never ceases to amaze me to watch able bodies 20 year olds pacing around the parking lot for five minutes looking for the 10 foot closer spot. Never do they stop to think its not that big of a deal instead their obsessed.

When I worked for the City government in Nashville there was city workers proud to display their Free parking …or … handicapped pass on their vehicle mirror that they got through their connections. I also knew a co-worker once that had one cause him and his wife were (believe it or not) to fat.  He was bragging to me that he was going to the NASCAR race in Atlanta and would be able to bypass all the traffic difficulty and park right up front. He earnestly believed I would be impressed by is ingenious streak of savvy ness.

So my question is two fold what percentage of the people who have handicapped parking permits do you think actually disserve them and of the ones that do not disserve them but have them anyways what is there political ideology to what branch of the two party system do you think they feel they are beholden to?

you are an idiot for reasons too numerous to address right now ...... so i'll focus on three of them

    A) i work in a grocery store part-time and i see first-hand who parks in those spots and it's always very old people

    B) who are we to say who deserves one of those passes? i don’t like when people abuse the privilege either but that's 10% of the holders AT BEST.

    C) what do politics have to do with this topic? u won't find anyone in the Netherlands so fat they're considered handicapped..... so don't blame it on socialism THANX

Smiles is correct. What you're talking about is the American way, and has nothing to do with politics. Somewhere down the line the people in our country got extremely lazy, became obsessed with petty things, and began looking for that parking space that's ten feet closer. The handicapped space is the golden prize, if you can ever find a way to get away with it.

I'm extremely UNDERwhelmed with this thread, Joe. You need to catch a glimpse of reality, and this coming from the guy who's supposed to be the craziest of the crazy... that's saying a lot Joe. You need to start seeing the world through multiple perspectives:

What popular cultural interests have swept over the population and gotten its grip on their minds?

What is the relationship between the people and their governments?

What is the relationship between the government and the world body?

What do the people think about the world body, and where is this sentiment heading?

What I guess I'm trying to say is "look at the big damn picture already."

I wouldn`t know since less than 50% of "handicaps" are visible. ( Though the physical handicaps would be the ones in need of parking-space. Do you get such a lisence if you are fat in the US ?

Cheating in this area is a serious crime though. Handicapped people dont`t have that much of the budgett anyway, and corruption in this field is extra serious.

Anyone abusing the rights and priviliges of such a group deserve our scorn. I agree with you there Joe. I just don`t see why you grab the "left"-word out of the air.

In the worlds biggest sport, ( the thing you call socker ), there is an expression. Go for the ball, not the player.

I'm pretty sure Joe's view of reality is fundamentally skewed. I doubt even 10% of his "co-workers" at the government agency had handicapped permits, but somehow he thinks that the general public is abusing them. Hasty generalizations abound.

10%? That WOULD be a chronic problem, and would have already been noticed. It might be somewhere near 2 or 3% if Joe's lucky, and by lucky I mean not completely retarded.

Ok I just ran yesterday into a couple that had their kids with them and a were going to a restaurant the father had his child about five on his shoulders and his wife had another kid and was carrying a baby carrier. They were both "bitty bopping" there way into the restaurant while bitching that they did not get there deserved placed maybe 5 yards closer. I thought they were the typical society leaches so I addressed their little children and explained that eventually they would see that their parents are takers in society and never contribute anything. Probably by the time their teenagers they will see this. I hope it sunk in and they look really small to their children as they should.

No it was a real problem at the government level where downtown parking spots are really hard to find. It was a joke and at least half the people working in administration at the state level had them and would use them to park at side streets that were metered otherwise. As a matter of fact eventually the news did an investigative piece on it (Fox News). Government workers at the administrative level are a vile and disgusting group of shitbag left wing America haters generally speaking in my experience.

My father in-law has a permit cause he has a pacemaker I guess that is a reason although he gets around fine. He stayed over for 21 days at my house. And kept insisting if anyone went somewhere "Don't forget the permit so you can get a good parking place" ...... I bit my tongue. :x
I often times see persons park their cars in the handicapped places and just lollygag there little asses into the place their going never missing a stride.

Everyone and I mean everyone that I have ever known that had one of these save my grandpa who used one the last year before he dies of emphysema. Was a hardcore yellow dog type of democrat. If I knew and that includes the ones working for the state as well as my co-worker who thought I would be impressed.

    Just my observation.

I figure maybe 40 percent are legit the others are taking grandpas car, Got a fat excuse (legal but illegit), got a contact in city government, Moron thinks its cool, developed a painfull corn on their right toe six years ago and got a Dr's note for a permit.

That kinda shit. When government regulates that perople be nice people become nice by force and meaner at heart and some just become advantage takers.

My question is why can't we all just be nice? If an elderly couple needs a hand with her groceries help out, take the back parking spot and don't jocky for the front spot.

Oh and noticing that someone is waiting for your parking spot and deciding this would be the most oppertune time to balance your checkbook, clear out your voicemail, write a novel. Thats a whole different thread.

I knew that would get to someone. Actually it was true. There was not a thing I could tell wrong with the couple but they were bitching with this guy about their spot. I thought how freaking useless. The parking spot was right next to a Veterinarians office and I saw the guy whip in to take his dog in. The family was upset because they did not see this and understand that 1. the guy truely was only there for a minute maybe then came out to move it. 2. He apparently had some emergency situation with his pet. So taking all of that into consideration and the fact that I saw absolutly no real reason the guy I'd say healthy and in his mid 30's unless maybe he had some bladder problem hell I cannot fathom why he needed the permit to bitch about 5 freaking yards. So there it is if I would have said anything to him he would have acted offended so I hope it hit him where it hurts when I simply addressed his little girls about what an ass their father is.

Really, so a kid crossing your lawn is a capital offense, but someone parking illegally and someone saying something about it means you demean them in front of their children. I like your logic Joe. It suits you. You should wear a foil hat when you go out in public so people know to stay away from you.

You had to be there I suppose they guy with the dog was in a situation and was rushing to move the people were being asses really. And the whole parking permit is one of my pet peeves. I probably am guilty of having a really hot temper if you hit my button just right. The black sheep of my family and the one who you could count on getting in trouble for fighting in school each year. So I'll admit I have a problem but so do they. God forbid that guy would have lit into me like he did the driver of the car. But me knowing what I know and that he had no right. I mean fuck signs, rules, laws, and permits just be decent to each other how about it?

heh joe so let me get this all straightened out.... you HATE when people abuse the privilege of the parking permits..... but you try to demean a father in front of his children who was speaking against an individual that parked illegally in a handicapped spot???

and THEN you say to us "God forbid that guy would have lit into me like he did the driver of the car"
--- woooooooow so you would’ve done the mature thing and fought him in front of his little children? i bet they were a bunch of liberals too!

Worst case scenario in that position I would have jack slapped him down to the ground and warned him not to get up. Thank God it never came to that because yes I would have felt bad I always do in retrospect. But I said as much and also mentioned I believe that I would have regretted it. To me signs, policies, laws are there for guidance above that it’s a moral decision. While it is good to leave a place vacant for those in need this family was obviously not in need. Also the Guy with the dog was in need to get in run his dog in correspond briefly and then get out. He was the one in the right laws be damned.

Character Smiley its something you apparently have very little of you would not understand. You think how good a person is gauged by weather he observes the laws placed upon him. Its all black and white either you do or do not obey. You have got no idea about shades of gray.
