Which one will it be? The video game market has expanded to dwarf even the movie industry now, and I remember people asking if there was enough of a market to support three consoles in this most recent generation (Xbox/PS2/GCN) - apparently there was - but do any of y'all see a clear winner in this next round?
I look at it this way. PS3 is overpriced and Blu-ray is the next Beta. I have a 360 which is awesome I love the arcade and all the games that have hit this fall have been a dream come true. They are adding a HDDVD drive for around 150 bucks. But I can give 2 spits about that til it proves itself more. The Wii will have the entire NIN library going for it plus Sega Plus Turbo Graphics and whoever else they get to jump on board. Plus the controls and Price point make it a must have. If you have the Wii and the 360 you're pretty much set. I think Sony shot themselves in the dick on this one.
Wii all the way. Their strategy for making games that everyone from the the gaming illeterate and the seasoned veterans can pick up and start having fun the second the thing powers up. Plus their machine is much nicer in the pricer. In my experience, Sony can't make hardware that lasts more than a fucking year. Microsoft has a chance, but to me they're the yankees of the gaming world, with near infinite money to back long term planning.
Yeah, I am selling me Gamecube and buying a Wii for the kids and me. I like the fact I can play every Nintendo console game ever made and the really cool Wii channels. I mean you can even get an Opera browers on it. I think Nintendo hit gold with the Wii.
I waited in line 12 hours, with a broken ankle to get one of the first 20 wii's on the 28th. I got Zelda, and it was worth every penny.
Yeah I'm going with the Wii myself. The access to every nintendo game ever did it for me. Bring on River City Ransom!! Merry Christmas me.
