Fresh new Iran manufactored weapons in Mahdi army

WASHINGTON, Nov. 30, 2006 — U.S. officials say they have found smoking-gun evidence of Iranian support for terrorists in Iraq: brand-new weapons fresh from Iranian factories. According to a senior defense official, coalition forces have recently seized Iranian-made weapons and munitions that bear manufacturing dates in 2006.

This suggests, say the sources, that the material is going directly from Iranian factories to Shia militias, rather than taking a roundabout path through the black market. "There is no way this could be done without (Iranian) government approval," says a senior official

Iranian-made munitions found in Iraq include advanced IEDs designed to pierce armor and anti-tank weapons. U.S. intelligence believes the weapons have been supplied to Iraq's growing Shia militias from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which is also believed to be training Iraqi militia fighters in Iran.


Evidence is mounting, too, that the most powerful militia in Iraq, Moktada al-Sadr's Mahdi army, is receiving training support from the Iranian-backed terrorists of Hezbollah.

Two senior U.S. defense officials confirmed to ABC News earlier reports that fighters from the Mahdi army have traveled to Lebanon to receive training from Hezbollah.

While the New York Times reported that as many as 2,000 Iraqi militia fighters had received training in Lebanon, one of the senior officials said he believed the number was "closer to 1,000." Officials say a much smaller number of Hezbollah fighters have also traveled through Syria and into Iraq to provide training.

U.S. intelligence officials believe the number of Al-Sadr's Mahdi army now includes 40,000 fighters, making it an especially formidable force.

 

Awesome, guess we can go to war with them, overextend our military, pull ourselves into an economic meltdown and start the apocalypse now.

Wait a minute, who gave North Korea all its nuclear bomb-producing equipment? Who's guns are being used in the streets of Iraq? Shit, when I look at it, everybody in the world is pissing us off one way or another. Let's declare war on EVERYBODY!

I'm actually going to join the Army instead after my recruiter lied to me about my shipping bonus. I'll probably be going in for something a little smarter than frontline infantry since I got a 96 on my ASVAB so I won't be worried about going anywhere.

What'll suck about war with Iran is that we'll start driving our tanks in, getting real cocky, and then we'll find out that they actually have lots of sophisticated weaponry that they've been purchasing from China and Russia with all their oil money, unlike Iraq, and then our ground forces will get torn to pieces. Maybe even our air forces as well.

Then we'll be super demoralized and thoroughly whipped, and come fleeing back home to a country in shambles because of the ensuing economic depression caused by the collapse of the oil markets. Our country's people really suck and have no real sense of national pride, so it'll be every man for himself with what's left of our nation's military being used as a police force.

 

I think China and Russia have been stabbing us in the back every chance they get. Also remember the follow the money thread where I showed Iran is buying Russian and Chinese good for extreme marked up prices? Thing is Russia has its own Muslim problem in its own back yard. And China has the same. They do not want to give Iran to much. But the game here it to defeat democracy. I told you communism is not dead but far from it. Open your eyes to the Leftist democracies that are leaning towards a socialist dictatorship. A stabile Democratic Iraq would not serve their interest. The recent Sandinista that was elected in South America barely got better than a 3rd of the vote. Just like Clinton's first term. Chavez stole his and there is no longer a real democracy in Venezuela Chavez will be the leader till he dies of old age just like Castro. Same with Armajadan or WTF ever his name is.

 

Whatever about all that. What I'm asking is do you think we got what it takes to take on Iran? After all, the Iraqi's weren't nearly as pissed off towards the beginning of the war because they still thought there was hope of a reconstruction effort. Now the world knows better and will fight tooth and nail to kick our ass the moment we declare war. Can we take on Iran and win?

In war, nobody really wins, but I'm sure we'll come out of Iran whimpering.

 

We could win against Iran with ease. Look Smurf we won the war against Iraq years ago. What is going on right now over there is a humanitarian thing we could simply say "screw the ungrateful assholes" but then we would be doing so at the expense of the innocent. The broader war the we were forced into weather you like it or not is the war on terror. The Mahidi army is being supplied by Iran like it or not we are really fighting Iran already.

An interesting note drudgereport.com had the "Iran smoking gun" headline only up for a few hours. Then they dropped it. Usually it is simply placed in rotation with the regular news items and replaced with another headline. It is nowhere to be found now and not even listed in the "Show recent headlines" section.

Any ways if the definition of winning is to wipe out their military production plants as well as take out their nuclear research facilities and have their military give up. .... piece of cake man!

But the media will run around yelling "FAILURE" there are rumors that secrete underground facilities were never touched! PFFFFFT! :lol:

Can you not see that? The media changes the ever evolving definition of the word "winning".

 

Then later on we hear a loud rumble off in the distance and wonder "What was that?" only to find out later on they nuked Los Angeles.

Dwaine there are a few reason the world hates us.

1. Their inferior governments fail them, the standard of living in America is so much higher than the rest of the world. They spend their life resenting us. (jealousy)

2. The excuse used by all the other inferior forms of government is that the reasons for their failure to achieve nirvana is because of America (misinformation or misplaced blame)

3. The world media as well as American media also are proponents of socialism who are against democracy and capitalism and sympathetic to communism. Or they are down right hard core communist. This means that they do not allow facts to get in the way of their anti-America propaganda agenda. Like for instance that America sends more aid relief in the form of money, food, technology, training around the world than most all other countries combined.

Dwaine the only way the spiteful hateful little shits are going to like America is when America is in the world’s gutter begging them for little scraps of help to subside on. Then after a few hundred years of that they eventually will start to hate us less and begin to feel sorry for us. Fuck em I say.

We have a track record of trying to win them over with gifts and aid. The world looks the other way. We try to help them to help themselves by showing them how to do things like we do so they can also be productive. We are accused of exploiting other countries and cohering them towards "Westernization". All the while stabbing us in the back at any given opportunity.
