I found a revolver today. I can't find much info on it. EMF makes it and it's called a Dakota. It's a .45 Colt. I think it's a replica of an old cowboy gun. It's pretty awesome. It was my fave in the store and I am thinking about getting it. My concern is the kick. Is a .45 more hardcore to shoot than a .357? I've shot a .357 python and it didn't break my wrist. Will this Colt kill my wrist? Will it shoot a smaller caliber and if so, will that make it not kick so much? I'm kind of a sissy with really small wrists. I seriously don't want to injure them.
Fire it correctly and it won't hurt you at all. Turn it sideways or use it carelessly with one hand and kiss your wrist goodbye. In other words, shoot it like a white girl and you won't have any problems. Fire it like you're filming "Menace II Society" amd take a trip to the ER.
Shit... .45 LC, an a properly weighted gun, kicks less than a .357 snub-nose. A preview of the newest addition: ...a 'big brother' recently entered the family...
The .45 you're looking at will react differently than a Python when fired. The Python is designed to recoil more or less backwards where the single action cowboy gun is designed to roll back in your hand rather than push back. If you use it for self defense make sure you kill them with the first cylinder full of ammo because there is no speedloader for that gun, you empty one and reload, empty one and reload............ until all six are full again.
