http://forzamotorsport.net/default.html Who's picking this up next Tuesday? I pre-bought it last week and got the wheel. Here is the car list. http://forzamotorsport.net/news/announcements/carlist.htm This is what I'm going after for my Garage. 1987 Buick Regal GNX 1968 Chrysler Plymouth Barracuda Formula-S 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 (personal favorite) 2002 Lotus Esprit V8 1982 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 1998 Toyota Supra RZ These are my Goal cars if you will. I'm sure I will get others but this is what my main stay for my garage and racing online will be.
Did you get the $150 force-feedback wheel? I saw one at Target that looked really nice but I'm too chicken-shit to pull the trigger on it.
Let me add another post "Dan style." I bought a cheap wheel a year ago for the PS2 to play Gran Turismo 4 with. It was much more difficult to me that the standard controller. In fact, it was not as fun. Maybe the cheaper models don't respond well so I'm not against it but what are your (anyone's) thoughts on a wheel controller?
Well I use to use the controller to play racing games. I like when you can make the right analog stick the gas and break. But I have found with a lot of xbox games they will not allow this and using the triggers doesn't give you the same control you need. Now as far as the wheel yes I got the one for 150. That's why I was selling the original Modded Xbox I have another modded xbox with just a 4 gig HD if I ever get a wild hair so it was no big loss. I was talking about it in passing at work and a kid offered me 250 for it right then. So I got the wheel and paid for FM2. Now as far as using the wheel I got my first wheel for Motor City Online and it took some getting use too at first. But once I did I was shaving 3 to 5 seconds off my time which all car guys no is big even for a game. The xbox wheel is really nice and the Force Feedback is strong. But If you get one I will give you a few tips. 1. On a force feedback wheel just like a car let it do it's thing don't fight it. If you fight it you will loose the car quicker then letting it drift off then correcting the mistake. 2. Work the gas & break with both feet. Use your left for the brake just nurse like you would a beer nice a slow don't slam it unless you have too. This way you can get some nice power slides. 3. Map the E-brake to a key that you can get to easy while shifting. Since MS didn't put a shifter on the wheel and went with cart type paddle shifters make sure you map the Y button as the E-brake it will save your ass.
