No one can answer for you if any sexual act is wrong - including your father - unless it presents a danger to you or to someone else. Masturbation is a physically and emotionally healthy activity for men and women to do. Some religions have moral reasons to believe it is dangerous to your soul.You may or may not agree.

I believe masturbation is not only healthy, but necessary, expecially for young adults. Young people are bombarded by sexual images and messages. Too many teenagers are having a very difficult time deciding when to have sex and masturbation helps them to wait until the time is right for them.

BUT MORE IMPORTANT......
Your father is wrong to hit you with a lamp. This is child abuse
( even though you are 16.) If this just happened and you have any cuts or bruises or burns, I suggest you take a photograph of them immediately. Or get a friend to help you.

With or without pictures, I suggest you go talk to a school counselor or an elder at your church or another adult you trust. What your father did is wrong and cannot continue. No church - even a church that thinks masturbation is wrong thinks it is ok to hit anyone with a lamp.

I also suggest you take some precaution when you want to masturbate again - lock your door, put a chair in front of your door, put a hook on your door -do something that twill give you a warning. Teenagers are entitled to privacy.
