The FDA are twats. Yeah, they really scrutinize. Twats. Of course not. People can grow it on their own, we can't approve of it until we figure out a way to rape you. Fucking twats. (redundant, i know)
FDA is all about government rules and more rules mean more power. For example consider the meat packing industry. Let the rules be real slack and let your political allies companies (ie Tyson Foods in the 90's) make bigger profits by giving them total wide open control of there hiring of illegals. Then when the competition is forced to do the same in order to compete within the marketplace. Let them have enough rope to hang themselves and then go after them. Next thing you know Tyson Foods has doubled there market share buying up meatpacking plants bogged down in financial and legal problems. FDA is no different government bureaucracies are corrupt. It’s up to the media to inform the public of what is going on. And that simply depends on where the corruption or perception of corruption lies.
I agree with you Ferine, This is getting ridiculous already with the weed issue. I'm thinking of moving to Canada.
it's not any better here..... was decriminalized for a while but now it's back to the usual..........
Clearly smoking it cannot be particularly good for you. It contains the same kinds of tars and produces the same kind of carbon monoxide as smoking tobacco does. But: 1. Tobacco is legal, and presumably in a lower category of control by the FDA than dope; 2. Who says you have to smoke the hooch? I agree with you Ferine. The FDA are a bunch of cocks. The Australian government is no better, with the exception of the ACT and South Australian state governments, both of whom allow you to grow a small amount (up to 4 plants, I think) for personal use only.
I’ve got close to 20 years experience of friendships with and experimentation with pot. Most every one of my heavy pot smoking friends has little motivation and little ambition. That having been said it seems that the pot sort of dulls the sharp edges of what would otherwise be a dull and boring life. My occasional to non pot smoking friends on the other hand as a general rule have motivations set and achieve goals. That being said when it comes to pot if I could reliably get hold (within reason there are seasons) of some nicepurple hair sensimilla. I might have to say “Light it up!”
Sometimes I love living in holland .. But you guys pro'lly couldnt handle the shit theyre growing over here nowadays . .
Generally speaking when I was in the scene out here it’s mostly skunk bud and if you were real lucky you could find some sense. Skunk if it was good meant that it made you an incoherent dumbass that could not have a sensible conversation even. Made you want to sit around and watch cartoons and eat cheerios or something. Good sensimelia on the other hand was really rare and it was just a high you could go about your day and function fine just enjoy the buzz.
I haven't smoked weed in several years. To tell the truth I don't really miss it, but to each their own.
I think however if alcahol is going to be legal then marajuana should also. Personally if it were I might use it on rare occasion. Last time I think I sparked one up was maybe 94. I can hardly believe its been that long.
In 94 I was 27 but for the previous 7 years rarely hit the stuff. As for it being legal I dunno. It’s like cigarettes its one of the few things that it does not bother me that the government is cracking down on. Thank god for mandatory no smoking sections. When you do not choose to be around the shit, others doing it can be so annoying.
I'd prefer if they would do away with the no smoking section and put in a no bitching section. I'd find that much more satisfying.
Ha ha! point made and point taken. I knew you were a smoker when I said it. But hey if your ever lucky enough to be sitting in the next stall beside me at a restaurant and your smoke is drifting over into my table. And I at the same time an lucky enough to have a bad case of gas. Well all I can say is don't join the bitching crowd if I choose to relieve my self while closely walking by your table.
I would fart back in retaliation. I live in California, you can't even smoke in bars here. Someone please tell me how it is that makes sense?
It does not really California is way over regulated. I could say a lot of nice things about the state that I found while staying there a while. However no offense but I was so ready to leave. If I go to a bar I expect smoke that’s different in my opinion. As a matter of fact after a few drinks I hardly notice the annoyance.
Because your voluntary activity, smoking, is involuntarily affecting all of the people around you. I don't want to drink in a room full of asbestos dust. And, given the choice, I'd prefer not to drink in a room full of tobacco smoke, either. I'm cool with separate sections though. Don't want to see you out on the street, in the cold.
I understand that it's a voluntary activity, but really what's the valid complaint. People go to bars to drink alchohol and wind up having sex with people they've never met, and they want me to put out my cigarette because it's unhealthy. I personally think it should be up to the bar owner.
Nah, disagree, sorry. Apparently some people go to bars to, say, meet a friend before the theatre. They may have one healthy glass of red wine while they are there. Should they be required to suffer air pollution while they wait? I don't think so. And the "they should find another bar to meet in if they don't like it" argument doesn't hold water, because if it's left to all bar owners to decide whether to be smoking or non-smoking, they'll all allow the smoking. Why? Because it's bad for business otherwise. We once had only one non-smoking pub in Sydney, and it lasted less than six months. I guess smokers are the biggest drinkers. Consider also the people who work at the bar. With cigarette smoke hanging in the air, it's the classic definition of an unsafe working environment. The solution seems simple enough to me. Any bar owner who wants to allow smoking should provide a proper, seperately ventilated area.
