I remember you wondering what L.S.D. or magic mushrooms do to you. This pic should give you a rough idea. Terrible, isn't it?

LSD and shrooms are two of the very few drugs I never tried. My question is this dearest Nursey....

How does someone function if their view of the world is distorted in this manner?

Just wondering if I'd be able to make it home from a party on this stuff.

Nursey tripping could possibly make that pic look really cool but would not make anyone envision anything like that.

Lots of things might really look cool or "trippy" a gorgeous blue sky might look so very brilliant and bright (cause your eyes are extremely dilated and not properly reacting to light) as to have an electric "Purple Haze"

Try reading these crazy "trippin" stories to get a better idea. Or better yet drop a few hits and find out. But when you do try to arrange time to get on fugly and let us know what its like real time. But if you’re really trippin I doubt you will feel like sitting down for any length of time.

That pic looks 'really cool' even when you're not tripping...as if you've had hallucinogens, practically. Which is what i'm getting at, although i have to say i've felt pretty much as far out as that pic looks at times when i've tripped, as if my whole body is pure, vibrant energy/light etc. etc. Perhaps this is more in line with what you experience on hallucinogens? :|

Sweet Cheezey bejesus! If this is how you are without ever having experienced hallucinogens, then god help any future victims you do.
Hallucinogens aren't an ideal party drug in my opinion, as you are opening up the floodgates to your senses and allowing everything around you to come streaming right in/through you, without your usual filtering and defences in place. They're the sort of drug you should take when you're feeling positive, with a few of your closest friends, in a calm, pleasant environment (and no drunken idiots creating shit or police arriving or whatever) with access to nature and the outdoors. And i wouldn't recommend acid at all, really. I took it a few times when i was a teenager, and i had some amazing times, but it's far too overpowering and artificial. Mushrooms are far more gentle, manageable and easier to recover from. Acid is just too extreme. This is a good resource: http://www.erowid.org/

Pyramids, eyeballs, end of world, bad trip, you must have me confused with Smurf.

Trippin can make your mind vulnerable to good or bad vibes. Trust me the bad can out weight the good. Better do it with an experienced group of trusted friends. Better to not do it at all. Absence of reality is over rated.

Then again check out the audio files here as well as the whole trippy ideal of Lucid Dreaming. Now there is something you would need to trip out to. Check this page out:
    http://www.lucidquest.com/music/samples.htm

I was going to include a pic but hell there are to many to choose just google image search Lucid Dreaming.

The music is really cool and there may be some relevance to the whole sound activates states of perception theory. If you want to have lucid dreams what makes for some really intense dreams for me is a mega dose of good quality Valerian root. About ten times the recommended dosage complete with a really high calorie intake of carbohydrates right before sleep. People dream all the time and never remember them. Ever wake up and want to tell someone about this wild dream you had and cannot remember the details?
To deep to get into but I would recommend skipping the acid and just stick to other enhanced altered states

I've never experienced an 'absence of reality' on anything, even salvia divinorum (a type of sage) the weirdest of all the things i've ever tried, which i would say distorts reality. Hallucinogens, if anything, accentuate and amplify reality. Some things (the sort i have no interest in - such as heroin) dampen it. In fact, i wonder if you've ever tried hallucinogens from some of the things you've said, Joe. Your description of tripping and the "purple haze" is such a cliche and sounds like the sort of thing you'd expect to find in an official police guide to recreational drug use and the sort of effects that commonly occur, including the sort of well known drug culture jargon, eg. "the intoxicated ("stoned") youngsters may refer to the stimulating effects of marijuana on their digestive system as "munchies"". And although lucid dreaming can be enjoyable, it doesn't really have much in common with hallucingens (to anyone that's tried both, anyway).

Well you got me beat then Nursey. I feel ashamed that I had to be called out by the all knowing one. I bet you’re a veritable encyclopedia of tripping information. What was I thinking to believe I could fool you?

Fact is I don't care to debate you on this it matters so very little to me except that it was of some vague interest reminiscent of a time in my life years gone by. Enhance, alter maybe an altered enhancement. Go ahead and keep it up why don't you start enhancing your perceptions a few times a day as a matter of fact with the help of a choice chemical hallucinogen. It will be interesting to watch. Of course I say this only in theory as I know nothing of what I am saying.

It's a nice picture. The 3-d effects as well as the conveyance of a duplicity of times all at once as if simultaneous realities is a job well done for whoever made it.

Dan have you chosen your specialty or non specialty i.e. General practitioner? Just curious. I have worked several jobs once the curiosity wears off they begin to get boring. So it’s nice if you can pick something that strikes your interest. Please don’t tell me Gynecology or Proctology. Also wondering what you know about sleep studies. Sleep is something I lack these days.

Just drink a tall glass of warm bleach Joe... It will help get you drowsy

You know I felt kinda weird asking Dan a legitimate question like WTF am I doing? Probably would have done just as well to drink a glass of bleach.

5'7" not in my best shape by no means. about 185 last I looked. I would not say I'm in bad shape though. Wife says I snore a lot. I actually suspect possibility of sleep apnea some times I wake extremely groggy and think I remember being out of breath. But I cannot tell if it’s me or some placebo effect just because I know of sleep apnea you know looking for it to be true.

I'm like the alter personality of hypochondriac.

What are your symptoms? How much exercise do you get? What other kinds of things are you seeing a doctor for? What medical problems have you been diagnosed with? What kind of shape are you in? Are you or have you ever felt like you were suffering from depression? What is your diet like? How much stress are you under with your job?
