I don't hate ME - I laugh at it and the fools who use it. No command line? WTF is THAT?

From all the grief and complaints about it I've heard from the sheep who installed it, I can only conclude it was created solely as a marketing ploy to force frustrated users to ultimately step up to 2000 Pro (or backpedal to 98 if they either couldn't scrape up the coin or have a friend burn 'em a copy).

Switch to Linux? Shyeah, right - snatch yourself bald-headed from learning a whole new OS, with the added bonus of lording it over everyone else: "Oh, _I_ run *Linux*! {sniff}" Fucking think they're IT gurus just cuz they figured out how to get the X server running & autostarted at boot - whoop-de-fucking-doo. Then off they go GREPing AWKwardly, oblivious to the fact that they don't actually know how to DO anything useful with it.

Oh Im sorry, Im not a programming genuis like you are. But I do have a 5 year service contract on this box that is void if I install another OS over ME. So I got mandrake and partitioned it. hence why I got it. can you partition a windows product beside another?

so heres the deal. I got mandrake partioned and runnong on my C Drive. Only problem is WIN modems will not work with LINUX ever! So I have to go buy a external moden that is LINUX compoatiable, and I can't even afford to fix my broken jeep. So I guess I will conect to the net via Winows ME Unless someone knows how to make a Conexant HCF V.90/56k RTAD Speakerphone PCI Modem accept LINUX drivers. Oh well, time to start shoplifting
