I really get so sick hearing eveyone bitch about shit on here, dont start with with the "could" do something, don't read something that makes you smarter, get fucking active, even if its only once in a awhile, start with an "AM" doing something. I don't do much , but I know I AM doing something, and AM isn't posting shit that makes me or someone else more aware, it's actually doing something. DO something, I don't care what and I don't want to know about it, just fucking do it. Go help food not bombs, go help a homeless person that really needs help... fucking christ, all the fucking bitching and pissing and moaning won't amount to one fucking loaf of bread to some sorry son of a bitch that needs it.
I'll tell you damn straight right now, a little help goes a long way, and it feels good at the end of the day.

So, is that what you think i'm doing, Schmed? (After all, i'm one of the main contributers to the cold sober forum). 'Bitching'? And i thought i was passing on information! According to the Iraqi Resistance, informing is doing something ("Educate those in doubt of the true nature of this conflict..."), and that's a good enough endorsement for me! Of course doing more tangible stuff is of great benefit, and i should do more myself (i do little things here and there), thanks for the reminder, but you shouldn't underestimate the value of educating people.

Have you read the transcript of the video Nursey?

Do you believe that what they are stating is accurate?

No Nursey, I wasn't directing this at you. In fact it had more to do with some assholes I had a run in with while out doing somethings and I came home very pissed off and just wanted to rant. So settle down.

To add to it further, I just get sick of hearing people (you hear a lot of it here in DC, protestors and all) talk about shit and not doing anyhting about it, in fact nothing pisses me off more than some sign holding asshole who dosn't do shit but hold a sign. I think getting educated is very important, after all you can't actually do anything about something if you don't know about it to begin with, I should of been more clear when I intially posted this, but as I said I was all worked up in a tizzy.

The few protesters i've ran into in DC, who seemed most vocal on whatever cause they were supporting - had the most clueless responses when asked to more deeply describe their objectives for being there. There are very few sign-toters who express a sincere concern about what they're protesting, i've come to the conclusion that the majority of them are just there for the party. Not all of them, but a hell of alot of them...
Perhaps the true activists have realized there are more effective ways of reaching the public/ corporations/ government officials than holding up the same tired sign as a hundred other people.

Most people at a protest just know that they're mad, and they don't know why. Herd mentality, nothing new. It's about the same logic as people who want to vote for the winner, otherwise the vote doesn't "count." Like they were betting on it or something. It'd be nice if most people knew their ass from a hole in the ground, but they don't.
